May 27, 200620 yr Very important of course in N America, (also Radio frequencies)I have always used FSSC for this, it has the ability to place bitmap on the ground and either make it visible in FS or not. It works very well with a DXT1 bitmap. FSSC is not the easiest of programs to get an accurate postion unless you are prepared to get out a pencil and paper and carefully plot the position, and a bit of trial and error for the heading.I have tried other programs but none seem to be able to place a bitmap over a runway...Anyone?Geoff
May 27, 200620 yr Sbuilder can do that kind of thing with textured polys Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com

But if you are not familiar with GMax, it is probably not easier to use than FSSC :). May 29, 200620 yr Thanks guys - I will give Sbuilder a try...I tried very early on with Gmax - I recall it kinda worked but there's a problem with ground scenery shadows? (I like my scenery to have shadows)Geoff
May 29, 200620 yr Author Commercial Member Hi Geoff,That is where the tweaking I mentioned comes in :). When using the Fs2002 gamepack you can tweak the generated source files so that they behave like real ground polygons and display the shadow correctly again.
