June 4, 200619 yr Gentlemen,Tom Allensworth has announced the opening of nominations for the Reader Choice Award. These are chosen by all the members of the Avsim forum and will be awarded at the Avsim Conference in September. It is rare for one of our own to be nominated or chosen for this award. And yet, talented people and excellent add-ons are not lacking in our small part of the FS World. So, I would ask you to please visit the Reader Choice Awards forum:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=251and nominate for either best freeware scenery or best freeware utility. All nominees must have been released within the last year. Just off the top of my head, I can think of: - Jim Keir's astonishing LWMViewer, does the same as EZ-Scenery, plus much more, plus it is free; - Jon Masterson's Library Object Manager (with Scenery Maker), finally out of beta, much more than an API manager, has grown into a full-fledged scenery tool.Others may occur to you. In any case, please let's give some of our own the recognition that they deserve, so nominate and vote for the Reader Choice Awards in our field.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
June 5, 200619 yr Hi Luis....I had downloaded LWM Viewer and set it aside until I find out what Microsoft Visual C++ 8 Runtime is....Do I need to buy Visual Studio (BAD) or is this just some download or a standalone dll I can download somewhere for free? (GOOD)
June 6, 200619 yr You certainly don't need to buy Visual Studio. A quick check on the microsdoft website revealed thishttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=enAs I recall Visual C++ 8 is VS2005. Jon ------- Microsoft Flight Sim MVP Airport Design Editor FSDeveloper.com
