August 7, 200718 yr Hi, I'm attempting to work on a scenery project for Bradley Airport. The default airport needs a lot of work. I was wondering if there are design tools for FSX that allow for the "construction/manipulation" of scenery objects in FSX. I noticed a lot for FS9 at the top of the forum. Are those same tools used for FSX?v/rToddhttp://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-pilot.jpg ATP MEL Commercial SEL B-747, BE-300, BE-400, DHC8, ERJ 170/190, MU-300 C-17A Globemaster III
August 8, 200718 yr Commercial Member Hi,What exactly do you want to design? You will probably need some different tools for different things. If you mean 3D objects with scenery objects, then GMax might be a good choice. There is a FsX gamepack with the SDK (part of the Deluxe version of FsX). Arno If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done. August 11, 200718 yr Commercial Member Hi Todd,You can download GMax from http://www.turbosquid.com/gmaxAfter you have installed it, you need to install the gamepack for FsX as well. That comes with the SDK. You will need to latest update for the SDK for that (SDK SP1A). Basically you will have to copy the gamepack folder to your GMax installation and then start GMax with the gamepack shortcut. But that is probably only the easy part, as you will then have to learn how to use GMax. You might want to download the Fs2004 GMax gamepack as well from MS, as it contains a tutorial that shows you how you can build a house in GMax.But online you will also be able to find some tutorials of course. I used these when I learned GMax myself:http://windowlight.co.nz/design.html Arno If the world should blow itself up, the last audible voice would be that of an expert saying it can't be done.
