After new installer: Cabin Windows are not transparent!
I have the same issue with the cabin windows as well. Also a very peculiar thing occurred when uninstalling using the control panel. I noticed the 777-300ER expansion was not listed in the list of programs but the base pack was. Could this possibly have corrupted the subsequent installation? VR Todd

OOM errors revisited
I have a question on this I find puzzling. If FSX for example is limited to approximately 4Gb of memory, how are some people plagued by this and others not? I've seen folks using worldwide detailed scenery and photo real texturing, yet I cannot complete a fourteen hour flight without the memory warning followed shortly after by the OOM, usually on approach. If this is an actual limitation of the software, how isn't every Flightbeam, FS dream team, REX, FS global, PMDG user not effected by this. VR Todd

Missing 777LR
Good Morning, I just recently upgraded to to the 300ER and now my 200LR's do not show in the FSX aircraft menu. Ops Center no longer recognizes the 200LR. Any suggestions on how I can get my 200LR's back? VR Todd

Dear PMDG, please seriously consider this.
If only I knew something about aircraft development, I have 1000 hours in the C-17A and the manuals, I'd have to dig them up though. I've been out of the Air Force a bit. There are many cool aspects that could be simulated. Yes it's just a "trash" hauler, but the ability to simulate the airdrop, air refueling, assault landings would be great in FS. Like RSR stated, it would be extremely complex to develop; I feel even more so than the airliners since the FMS system is unique to the airplane itself and the procedures generally are different than most aircraft. As far as thrust reverse in flight, I've had 10,000ft/min decent rate. It's an impressive aircraft. Cheers, Todd If only I knew something about aircraft development, I have 1000 hours in the C-17A and the manuals, I'd have to dig them up though. I've been out of the Air Force a bit. Cabin Ready Announcmement
Not necessarily, it is the flight attendants that alert you the cabin is ready. They don't necessarily know the status of your checklist progress. They are simply alerting you they are ready. Todd

Cost index....777 FMC vs PFPX
Actually you can step climb on NAT's, I've done it many times. Of course like anything you must request it. These days as part of your oceanic clearance you are required to give them your "when able higher" report at your first reporting point on the NAT. This is required in the New York and Santa Maria Oceanic FIR's. It is optional for the others. VR Todd

777 freezing
Any of you running REX? I had this issue as well, stopped using REX the freezing stopped. I'll check for REX updates and see if I can use it on long haul flights. Cheers, Todd

Pmdg 777 Bug
Wow, The tone here is disturbing. What are these forums for if people are going to get grief for asking questions? From the sound of it, this place is loaded with self righteous, type rated, real world 777 pilots. Let's all just smile and be helpful. Cheers, Todd

FPS. What FPS do you get?
I'm not a cheerleader, but for the complexity and detail of the 777 it runs very efficient in comparison with other addon aircraft. Obviously the usual big airport suspects you will see a considerable drop in FPS. This is usual for me and every addon aircraft and scenery, you all know the sceneries I'm referring to...the ultra realistic kind. Anyway for those thinking of purchasing, you will not be surprised by the performance and if configured right, you won't have to upgrade your computer because of the 777. Cheers, Todd

777-200LR VS 777-300ER
Who do you work for? I'm a pilot overseas and get stuck flying mil-air all the time. I use to fly the IAD -DXB leg frequently. It takes me about 5-7 days to get to theater now. Cheers, Todd

Seeing Microsoft's Store fiasco, is online controlled content wise for end users?
I think there is a general movement to subscription based software. I don't agree with it, but that's where they can make more money. The bottom line is we purchase something non tangible, simply something that works on your computer. I remember the days you bought CD's, floppy's, etc...I remember the first time I embraced "downloaded" software. Now it its the norm. I went to Best Buy and saw Microsoft office for sale for a one year subscription. I'm not surprised unfortunately by all of this. I don't think its going to get rolled back. VR Todd

Here is a dumb physics question for you smart people
Your speed was zero the moment you stopped under the trap door. You are matched with the ship. This similar thing is done by military pilots doing air refueling. I might be doing 400 Kts over the ground but I'm doing 0 Kts relative to the tanker. Todd

Correct landing technique?
Keep power in, fly ref + 15 until short final, slowly remove power. Carry a little to touchdown, on touchdown idle, then disc, reverse as required. Do not go above 5 degrees usually, you risk a tail strike. Additionally most landings are flaps 15, rarely need a 35 flap landing. It's a dash, a normal landing will be firm, if you grease it, then you floated too much. Cheers, Todd
