October 25, 200718 yr Hi allAt Flight Ontario we are working on Goose Bay Labrador.I fly from a town east of CYYR to CYYR Goose Bay and all is fine.I get within 5 miles of the runway and the scenery reloads.A screan comes up reloading textures. Im the only one getting this and if I run the same flight on my other PC all is fine.Any ideas???My system is a Core2 Duo 2gig DDR and my video card is the BFG Nvidia 8800 GTX.Could this just be a setting in my FS9cfg that I have messed up?Thanks Al Sibleyhttp://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif
October 25, 200718 yr Commercial Member Hi Al,the only cause for "involuntary" texture reloading I know of apperas related to crossing of time zone boundaries. Did you perhaps install an edited version of the time zone definitions on one of your PCs but not the other?Just a wild guess...Cheers, Holger
October 25, 200718 yr Hi Holger How are ya doing?Yes I did. There was a file came out a while ago to correct the season changes as to when ceratin areas get snow.I believe this really corrected the spotting of snow in May and Oct if I remember.Could that have done it?Alhttp://www.flightontario.com/images/sig_asibley.gif
October 25, 200718 yr Commercial Member Hi all, doing well - rather busy though ;-)Nope, a seasons file won't change the internal time zones. I was thinking of an add-on like this http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...scen&DLID=46692 or this http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...util&DLID=62772I'm not saying they are responsible; the only thing I know is that time zone boundaries seem to be able to cause texture reloading in certain situations. Sorry I can't be of more help.Cheers, Holger
November 1, 200718 yr Author Just to add to Holger's post. Do you have FSUIPC installed? If so untick the box that keeps the clock syn'c. This can in some cases cause a reload of FSX every so many minutes which may appear to be a texture issue but ends up being a AI time update problem.
