February 1, 200818 yr I have noticed that apart from all the veg_*.dds files contained in the Scenery/Global/Texture directory, the FS9 legacy treesFA/SP/SW/SU/WI/HW.bmp still exist in the FSX/texture directory.Does anyone know when, if at all, these latter Trees*.bmp are used by the FSX sim, as opposed to those dds files contained in the Global/Texture directory. The reason that I ask, is that I find the trees in general to be too dark for the base textures and that they do not blend in too well. I was thinking of adjusting Lightness & Saturation, and also to aplly blur to them too, which I think might give a more natural look to them while flying. However, there are alot of the veg_*.dds to modify and if the Trees*.bmps are actually used when higher from the ground, then it may be effective to just adjust those.Any thoughts?Cheers, Stuart
February 1, 200818 yr Hello Stuart, As far as I can tell, those textures are no longer used. I have various substitute texture sheets for different parts of the world, in use since FS 2002, and they no longer do anything at all in FS X.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
