May 24, 200224 yr Hmm. I'm not sure what the reviewer did but it seems hard to believe that a professional reviewer would do something like that... Do you mean by "weather" that the reviewer added the weather package as well which generate weather on the fly? I can see how THIS might slow things down with more CPU overhead.
May 24, 200224 yr Hi,The cloud sets from FSW are direct replacement textures of the same size and dimensions. If you have three layers of clouds without FSW and three layers of clouds with FSW, there is absolutely no difference to FS. The cloud sets add nothing and take away nothing from FS framerates. Of course they add volumes to the visual display.I have no idea what review you are referring to, but if they truly said replacement cloud textures hit the framerate by even the tiniest amount I wouldn't trust anything they ever said again. Indeed, the only way they'd ever see a framerate hit would be showing FS2K2 without any cloud layers then FS2K2 with cloud layers (regardless if the original cloud textures were there or replaced by FSW). Doesn't sound like a professional reviewer to me.Take care,http://members.rogers.com/eelvish/elrondlogo.gifhttp://members.rogers.com/eelvish/flyurl.gif
May 24, 200224 yr Commercial Member Hi, All fsw clouds are the same performance like the default fs2k2 clouds. The new clouds will be available in two resolution, standard and higher for better resolution, The shots in my web site will look the same for the standard resolution, there is almost non difference only, the higher resolution set are better when the clouds are higher in feet above 18 000 feet. Also there is a cloud density slider, you can set this 50% or 60% the fps are better. When you add clouds in fs2k2 default or fsw, the fps will be lower because you are adding (visual in the sky). You will know thats if you want realistic quality you will have to pay the price in cpu or by tweaking your preference in the fs2k2 graphics option, If you are using all at full slider in fs2k2 you must have a good system. But again the fsw clouds have the same performance like the default fs2k2 one, except for the higher resolution set 2 or 3 fps when you set those high in feet, but even not too much fps hit as normal height in feet.ThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
