Help, Dreaded Direct X Error

Don't know what I did but all of a sudden I get this message everytime I attempt to start FLY IIVideo card error messageDirectX errorCode: 8876086ADescription: This device does not support the queried technique.While trying to do this: Can't find a Z buffer formatWorked fine yesterday and even a system restore didn't fix it. Anyone ?It seems to be a Direct X 8 error since I can't get the Direct X Troubleshooter to run the Direct 3D test in Direct X 8. works in 7 and 9. reinstalled XP no change. HELPPaul:-cool

If it works with DX9 is there any reason you can't stay at that version?

Actually I meant that Direct X 9 passes the Direct 3D test but apparently Fly requires Direct X 8 since it will not start unless I select Direct X 7 (and then runs at about 1 FPS) I Can't figure out any way to restore/repair direct X 8.RegardsPaul:-cool

Hey VinI'll try the time machine tonight to my pre Direct X 9 install and see if I can get it running again. Only other thing I can think of is Initialize my Hard drive and start with a fresh XP installation :-grrThanksPaul:-cool
