July 25, 200322 yr After completing 62 full tiles I am no longer able to complete any more tiles. Terrascene will produce all the required graphic files, start the slicing process but when the file is completed there is no SCF file in the folder and during the generation of the second or third full tile the program will stop working with an error (WindowsXP Pro). I did not change any settings and am using the same process I used for making the first 62... would think I had it down pretty good by now but have tried three seperate times and the program won't make the SCF file. Anyone else have a clue? I'm a Terrascene junky at this point and can't wait to see more!Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
July 26, 200322 yr G'day Zane,One cause for not being able to make an scf file is that there is already an scf file from a previous rendering of that scenery in the scenery folder. This happens if you try to redo a terrascene project. I don't know if this is your problem but it is all I can think of.Just check your scenery folder and see. If there is just simply delete it and start again.Cheers,Roger @YSSY Cheers, Roger http://forum.avsim.net/public/styles_images/flags/au.png
July 29, 200322 yr Author Hello Roger,No prior SCF's. I was finally able to get it to render a scenery by only setting up for one globe tile at a time. I already had it set to make one globe tile at a time but was trying to render a larger area in individual globe tiles. When it finished I found the completed files in the scenery folder and an additional adjacent folder with only a SCF file (?), which I deleted and it all is working fine now. Completed 10 globe tiles since, one in a group of six, the other in a group of four without a hitch. It seems some particularly detailed mountainous areas might give more reason for troubles.Zane Dr Zane Gard Sr Staff Reviewer AVSIM Private Pilot ASEL since 1986 IFR 2010 AOPA 00915027 American Mensa 100314888
