May 4, 200422 yr Sorry Jeff,I can't make models that great.Steve, are you making them yourselfe? What about some nice oilrigs? Like the huge one's in the Northsea.Janhttp://www.avsim.com/hangar/fly/dfdg/bannerjh.jpg
May 4, 200422 yr Hi "Biber" Steve George Brown! That's outstanding and surprising! This kind of eye-candy is lacking for those flying at lower levels. When we are coming back from duty in real life flying between 800 and 2000 ft AGL I love to look at the "scenery", especially in summer-time. That should be possible in FLY!, too. And when I have finished my actual work with DSat5 and Landsat7 satellite textures I would like to use your streets and railway-lines for an upcoming scenery of the region I live in.I have no time to be a real Beta-tester but if you would mail me some street-parts I could try it next weekend. Thanks a lot again and more, more, more ..Georg (EDDW)BTW: if anyone reading this has some trouble with his PC the last days, there is a very new WORM W32/Sasser (B,C,D). You may be infected without any symptoms on W98, but with XP you get some trouble with "lsass" error and shutdown of your PC within some minutes. I just killed Sasser (B,D) after having big trouble. Thank you once again CORD for your tip!!!This worm gets on your PC from OUTSIDE scanning ports by chance! No infection is made by eMail or download. If you have a firewall there might be no risk, but everyone should download the MS update and some tools to get rid of that beast(s)!F-Secure (free of charge download), McAfee:http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_125007.htmhttp://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/sasser.shtmlThis is the German bulletin of MS, there is an English version for sure:http://www.microsoft.com/germany/ms/techne...tinms04-011.htm
May 4, 200422 yr Hi guys :-) This is an ongoing experiment of adding textures to models that are "already" on your computer. All the models in the picture are Tri models, but for the cabin which is Vins!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/74508.jpg Anyone who can use a paint program and a bit of emagination can do this. The walls started off being the containers in Fly2.The railroad and Roads I have done were the large pool in Fly2. The Trains started life as the default Fire truck in Fly2.You can alter the size of each model holding down the ctrl key when starting fly2. Load the model you have extracted from the generic pod and renamed. Use the shape editor here to give it the right size you need. It took les than half an hour to do the 2 trains :-) To do the sandstone wall took 10 minutes.Im learning how to use a 3d model program but Im still having problems mapping textures, its very hard having a young lively girl in the house, and doing building work to my little sandstone Cottage which was made in 1870... but I will do it.Maybe in the future Jan, you will get your large North Sea oilrigs :-lol Stevehttp://mysite.freeserve.com/ysomdesign/banner.jpg My Websitehttp://www.wrexhamspace.orghttp://www.cafeshops.com/wrexhamspace

Because I came up with this idea, I had to carry on so I wouldnt forget it :-lol Once 3 0r 4 jobs are finished I will do a few tutorials in pdf format.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/74549.jpg Cheers Stevehttp://mysite.freeserve.com/ysomdesign/banner.jpg My Websitehttp://www.wrexhamspace.orghttp://www.cafeshops.com/wrexhamspace
May 7, 200422 yr Hi Steve, thank you for sending me your street&railway collection. This is a demonstration for all what I could do within a very short time with much fun - only the sometimes strange behaviour of that FLY! editor .. :( So everybody can improve sceneries with Steve's new objects.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/74814.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/74815.jpgAnd Steve, what about a motorway (highway, Autobahn) object?RegardsGeorg (EDDW)
May 7, 200422 yr Oh yes!How could I leave that out ;-) The files I sent you Georg may muck up the Aosta scenery roads as they have the same names as these objects but are different sizes. I have redone the file names, and soon will add them to a pod for ease of use. Watch your post! Wayne has been able to add them with Terramodels no problem too. This project is now a big one? Jeff will have more info on his site about this pack soon! So far 50 repaint models and its climbing.Great pictures by the way, you look like you were having fun :-) Thanks Georg.Stevehttp://mysite.freeserve.com/ysomdesign/banner.jpg My Websitehttp://www.wrexhamspace.orghttp://www.cafeshops.com/wrexhamspace
