Wayne - Stark's Twin Oaks (7S3) Uploaded

Featured Replies

I have produced a small DB update package that installs the missing 7S3 airport of Hillsboro, Oregon. This is the airport that Zane had requested - it has been uploaded to the Avsim File Library. If you would like the files sent directly to you, please send your email address to [email protected]. Otherwise, they should be available from the library shortly.A few suggestions on creating the scenery for this airport:Though TM can't find the airport (who knows why), Taxiway sees it immediately. I would suggest downloading the TerraServer image into TM by using the digital coordinates:45.4284503 / -122.9421569This will give you a fair overhead view of the airport. You should then restart taxiway and import this image as a background (from the TM22Images directory). This will make it easy to create the taxiways and tarmacs. When you restart TM, the new taxiways should appear and you should be able to accurately place the image for scenery alignment using the taxiways. :-)

I just found out that Bill Womack is working on a detailed scenery for Stark's Twin Oaks for FS9, the Stark's have graciously allowed him to take several photographs of the airpark. He would be a great resource for the placement and selection of outbuildings and general stuff.BTW thank you so much Randall for your research and work on this field, for me it was something really missing from the sim because I do fly out of there when I get a chance to really fly.Zane

Great! If those images could eventually be posted or sent to Wayne, I'm sure they would be very helpful. Small airports like this are especially difficult, as exact placement data - even taxiway charts are difficult to come by, whereas airports that have at least one IAP are usually well-charted.
