Question for Todd or Ken TS 2.1 or anyone else...

Featured Replies

Hi All,Well, I have dropped my hat into the ring, read the tutorials and threads on TS 2.1First off, Todd .... Thank You.. Your program is absolutely incredible.I rarely do things small, so I am rendering a 50 mile radius from JOT. Since this encompasses all of Chicago, should I remove Ken's Chicago and west scenery pods prior to starting Fly!II after the render is complete. I also understand to remove the not needed data files as well. It has been rendering since last night at 8:30pm or so. It is now at 28% on the progress bar.. :-) Ok, I admit, I had no clue when it said go have a cup of coffee, that it would take a day.. I caught on after an hour or so and using ACDsee on the output folder. :-)Q #2I am guessing that Pascal's tutorial is really just optional shading and such. What I am really looking for was the roads and rivers, etc...Thanks in advance. I am not sure if I will upload or not, as Ken did a great job with Chicago, so this is more of an experiement for me and my own personal use. Unless my scenery turns out great.. :-)Thanks,Joe :-wavehttp://home.attbi.com/~jranos/mysig.jpg http://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gif

I would remove my scenery, you may not see yours depending on how Fly! loads the PODs.The "cup" is a cup that extends into 4 dimensions (at least)...http://www.thesalters.org/images/Avsim_sig_KS.jpg

Joe,Read at the end of the TS manual the optimization chapter. In fact, you can't change the dowload time, but the rendering itself. The variables to set are "max segment size" in render options and "max_heap_size" (or something like that) in some ini file (can't remember the name).Enjoy!Pascal
