Size of Terrascene 2 project

Featured Replies

With TS2 I have produced 9 quarter tiles which include parts of four globe tiles for the area between Jackson Hole Wyo.in the south and Yellowstone in the north. The size of the nine PODS is 704,231kb.Comparing this with other TS projects in the File Library it seems very large. Is this because it is a mountainous area and so has a lot of data relating to the variations in elevation or have I done something wrong? The scenery runs beautifully in FlyII.:-hmmm

G'day Flyfisher,Well done! That's a good size scenery. Unfortunately you have come up against the bane of Fly! II scenery designers. i.e. the large memory size of the files. Many of the scenery files in the library are not the final terrascene files but are DIY scenery paks that contain all the files necessary for the downloader to make the scenery using Terrascene. This is one work around to overcome the very large scenery files.< The scenery runs beautifully in FlyII >That's the main thing. :-)How about a couple of screenshots? Who knows - might encourage others to have a go at making a particular bit of scenery they want. Cheers,Roger @YSSY

Roger,Thanks for the comments. Here are some screenshots. There appears to be a database error in FlyII as West Yellowstone(KWYS) is only available in the state of Wyoming in the Flight Planner window. In fact it is in Montana which is correctly stated in the menu bar once the search is done in Wyoming!.Wayne has just uploaded the Jackson Hole Airport to the scenery files. The approach can be seen in one of the shots.:-beerchug
