July 1, 200223 yr Hi,Have used Steve's newest Archer 3 with is brilliant, however after flying for a short time I noticed the left fuel tank level was droping and the right tank remained full, is there a left/right fuel tank selector switch somewhere that I haven't found?ThanksPeter.
July 2, 200223 yr This is just a "me too" -- however, unlike you I flew it for a long time, needing to apply an increasing amount of rudder input as the left tank drained. Just as I was over-flying a suitable airport the engine died, with the right tank still being unused. I managed to get the Archer down without crashing it even though I ended up putting it down right of the runway. (I would have stalled it if I'd forced a turn to make it to the tarmac).Bottom line, we can only use half of the fuel supply and the aircraft will not switch to the right tank automatically as the left tank runs dry. I like the Archer a lot and the local aeroclub has one, meaning that if my dream ever comes true it might be a good idea to practice flying this plane...Steve, just put the tank switching issue on the list for the next upgrade -- in the meantime I'll settle for shorter flights :-)best regards,Hans Petter
