January 7, 200323 yr After a long time of experiments and analysis I can tell you that the Geos mystery is resolved.Caution - from now this is not just a pit, it's real hard terrain !http://www.agtim.ch/fu3/notapit.jpgMy test ramp was first a nail board http://www.agtim.ch/fu3/ramp01.jpgthen a blackberry surfacehttp://www.agtim.ch/fu3/ramp02.jpgbut now as defined a totally flat ramphttp://www.agtim.ch/fu3/ramp03.jpgAnd so we have now the original elevation quality for the new region alsohttp://www.agtim.ch/fu3/nene01.jpghttp://www.agtim.ch/fu3/nelu01.jpghttp://www.agtim.ch/fu3/nelu02.jpghttp://www.agtim.ch/fu3/nelu03.jpg After checking and finishing the user interface I will upload GeoTilesViewer 3.0in about 1 or 2 weeks.:-wave agtim
January 8, 200323 yr That looks unbelievably good at the water's edge.Does this also affect making flat terrains at airports? The Heathrow airport package is supposed to be on a level surface at 76-77 feet, but also shows dips.Rob D.
January 8, 200323 yr Author hi Robert,No alteration of elevation, this is just changing the visual parameters and not the heights itself, so your airport is safe.best regardsAndr
January 8, 200323 yr Nice work Andre. I am looking forward to getting my copy of the UK terrain even more now :-) With respect to "flattening" areas, I assume that this will be possible with the UK scenery region ? A flat surface is a cool place to start when building airports :-coolChris Low,ENGLAND. January 9, 200323 yr Author Hi Chris,"flattening" areas - same procedure as for Coupeville Nolf problem solving explained earlier in this forum. :-wave agtim
January 9, 200323 yr Geos mystery resolved.Real hard terrain. No unwanted pits.Original elevation quality.Andre, you are briliant. This is such good news for everyone keen on the futcher of FU3.Espeshaly for me, cus I land everywhere exept airports.I too am looking forward to getting a copy of the UK terrain from Cristian. How has allso worked so hard on this. What a briliant start to the new year.Thank you so much.glidernut.
January 10, 200323 yr Author Hi Glidernut,Thanks for feedback, unfortunately there are not many lifts in UK, may be when we make a better elevation for Dartmore but the rest is very flat.:-wave agtim
January 12, 200323 yr yes that's correct Cristian! When you taxi around the flattened airfield, there are strange depressions whihc you can see but aren't there - you float over the top of them! I was wondering if this problem was fixed by your superflat modification agtim?
January 12, 200323 yr Andre,How difficult would it be to get an elevated terrain mesh of the UK scenery to the same resolution as that in the Seattle and SanFran regions ? I assume that this isn't the case at the moment ?Chris Low,ENGLAND. January 12, 200323 yr Author Hi Chris,The only source I have is that from the NIMAMUSE Serverhttp://geoengine.nima.mil/If we can get other, better sources then conversion to fu3 will not be a problem.:-wave agtim
