May 22, 200323 yr Thanks Andy, I am indeed using Robs Gifs and with a SF palette. By the way how is Lydd coming along -any chance of some Work in Progress screenshots ? I once flew past it about 2yrs ago and if I remember correctly there are a lot of high tension pylons in the area. Maybe a new model is needed here ;-) Cheers and have a nice holiday
May 22, 200323 yr Did you see the later post and get the gifs and mips.Work in Progress screenshots, well so far its all been research and learning, but have both runways ( 1 disused) created and installed plus a taxiway to one runway. I am trying to be a bit clever by making made to measure runways and taxiways so I dont get the problem of overlapping models and the way they are displayed (i.e mis allignment, sometimes wrong model appearing on top etc.), but getting there, learning and having fun.I am taking a break next week (my wife will be pleased that I'm "not on that bloody computer again") so this will push back the release, but I'll get there. How about some shots of Bristol :-)If you need any other gifs changing just let me know and I'll see what I can do.Andy
May 23, 200323 yr Hi Model BuilderThe positive part of using e-file-editing is creating models with few polygons. The runway of IOW was done that way using Robert's excellent runway tutorial. :-)But as soon I started building hangars, I choose GMAX to place the texture on it.The Needles, Spitfire and Hurricane was only possible to build using GMAX.To do this I spend an afternoon working out the GMAX tutorials to learn how to use the tool. After this step by step learning I can do all what I want and can just encourage all model builder to proceed that way. As shown by Ansgar earlier in this forum, GMAX and the MD3 export plug in is free available. :-wave agtim
