Sheesh... more racing talk here than in "Racing Fools" forum :-lol

I noticed that too, Stag. :-rollC'mon, folks, join us down in Racing Fools! :-)

http://www.avsim.com/other/usaribbon.gifBob "FlyBert" StilesAVSIM Moderator

"Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"~Richard Harvey, 1/21/2003

Chris,The *UltraMen* Racing Team (Staggerwing, Phil, Tom Wunder and myself) always lovingly referred to the Volvo Amazon as "The Boat". :-)

http://www.avsim.com/other/usaribbon.gifBob "FlyBert" StilesAVSIM Moderator

"Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"~Richard Harvey, 1/21/2003

Tom, I assume you've fixed by now all your former problems with GPL on your ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. Fortunately enough, I've done so on my current Geforce 4 4800 SE quite easily.I seem to remember you had "something in mind" re the AI in GPL... but it was ages ago... anything about that?Best regards,

Daniel,I got side tracked on that. It does seem as if I saw something about GPL working with the 9700 with the latest patch... which I have. I was never planning to adjust the AI... only the grip. I have been working on doing just that on many of the NR03 tracks with mostly great results. I just did the Glen last night and it worked great. I will post some more about this on Racing Fools tomorrow. At least I will if I can get my air conditioning fixed. We are having 90+ temps and the AC is goofing up... supposed to be triple digits tomorrow.

>I got side tracked on that. Hi Stearman,What track is that in your screen shot above? Am also wondering what upgrade you have on it. It looks really great, though I doubt my ole v5 can make it look that good. Thanks, Jim B.

>What track is that in your screen shot above? Am also>wondering what upgrade you have on it. It looks really great,>though I doubt my ole v5 can make it look that good.Hi Jim, the track is Monza. As for the best & latest in upgrades for GPL, get all the info here:http://fredfaster.m4driving.sm/index_eng.htm(the screenshots are just from this site, BTW).If by "v5" you mean a 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500, you can expect it all. Remember GPL was originally designed for Glide, which is native in 3dfx cards, and the 5500 was the ultimate 3dfx card ever. But for FS2002 (and the upcoming FS2004), I would have never changed mine for a Geforce. Certainly not for GPL!!!Best regards,

Daniel,Sorry but I have had a bad few days here. First my air conditioning has been down during a nasty heat wave... twelve hundred bucks later I once again have a functioning AC. I have also not been feeling very well for a couple of days. I'll check it out... would be nice to have those pretty tracks with some grip!

>I now have a copy of Grand Prix Legends, so can you give me>detailed instructions regarding how to improve the graphics so>that they look like the second picture that you posted earlier>in this thread ?>>I want to know ALL of the best upgrades for GPL, so get>scribbling :-)First of all you must update your GPL with the latest patches, which you'll find here:http://www.papy.comMost probably you'll need the v1.2 patch (there is a specific UK version, which in turn will probably remove the need of keeping the CD in the CD unit), then you'll need the CPU Speed Fix (if your computer is over 1.5 Ghz), then the Direct3D and/or OpenGL patches (if you don't have a 3dfx card). For the car and track upgrades, you'll find all the latest info (permanently updated) here:http://fredfaster.m4driving.sm/index_eng.htmHowever (re the cars) it boils down to:1) Get GPLCSM, a great piece of software to manage all your car upgrades. GPLCSM can be found here:http://gplwdsdev2.speed-city.com/gplw.aspx2) Then look for all the best & latest cars here:http://gplea.racesimcentral.com/index.html(This is the site of GPLEA, the Grand Prix Legends Editors Association, sort of the "official" source for all the car stuff and also a great deal of the track stuff).Hope that helps, best regards...
