November 18, 200223 yr Hey guys,Will RC3 be available even if you do not file a flight plan, or will the FS2002 atc take over then?Say you wanna do flight around the circuit, or a VFR flight rather than IFR. Anyway I guess my question is will RC3 always be the ATC after its installed, or only after you file a flight plan? Or,....will it only operate if it started before FS2002!!?Help me here I am a complete :-newbie when it comes to this stuff, but I am learning, and quickly too!!!Thanks for your help!!Laterhttp://www.forefrontgrp.com/jayssig.jpg"There is an art . . . to flying. November 18, 200223 yr Jason,You must file a flight plan in order to use Radar Contact V3. Radar Contact does not do VFR. The process is actually very simple.1. Start FS20022. File a flight plan using the built in planner or any of the other flight planners listed in the RCv3 manual.3. Minimize FS2002 and start RCv3.4. Load the flight plan into RCv3.5. Fly your flight plan in FS2002.If you want to do VFR flying use the built-in ATC in FS2002

November 19, 200223 yr Jason,Let me add to what JD and Rick have said.In reading your question, it appears as if you think RC replaces the FSATC. It doesn't. RCv3 is an external program that can run as well as FSATC. You don't want to use both simultaneously, of course, but neither knows the other exists.Since RC doesn't have VFR yet, you will want to use FSATC and not run RC. For IFR, you'll want to use RC, but you can monitor FSATC on Comm 2, changing freqencies but not communicating with them.Since RC is a stand alone program, you load into it the flight plan so it knows where you're going. You can also load into the FS planner so you can follow the plan, or use any planner you wish.In any case, all will be clear when you read the manual (available without purchasing RC) and get RC (only available if you purchase RC ;-)).
