Lost Chatter

Featured Replies

Well somehow I have lost all my chatter. I do hear the controller and I hear the pilot. I have the sliders to Max and still nothing. It was working fine last time I flew and I have not changed anything. Also I noticed that when AI traffic was close, there was no Acknowledgment from the controller.OK what am I doing wrong.Rick

exactly how close, and what altitude was your ai traffic (compared to your altitude).you don't get traffic calls for ai traffic unless you are within a specific range of altitude and distance. as far as chatter goes, did you change flight simulators clock/time while rc was running?

Thanks fro your response.. First the I was cleared for take off and at the same time a plane was landing, secondly, yes I did change the time, but I also noticed this happend (lost chatter) after I loaded the flight from RC not from FS2002. I just tried loading it from FS2002 and it appears that it worked.but still have the problem with the AI traffic.

change the fs time prior to start rcheather in the general fs forum has a resolution for the missing ai

Thanks for the tip..It worked. But still having AI traffic problems. Well Heather's problem is not what I am having. I have the AI traffic and I see it,my problem is that RC is NOT recognizing it. The controller clears me for take off at the same time another aircraft is landing on the same runway. Does RC recognize other traffic?

RC does not see AI traffic on the ground. Visual flight rules are in effect, you must see and avoid Ground Traffic on your own. Larry

We spent some time working on lost chatter situtions. This is really important for all RCv3 users. If you change the MSFS clock While RC is loaded, you will interrup the chatter timing sequences. Once RC is loaded make sure the clock is NOT changed. Now for AI traffic, I have a full set of PAI (Project AI) planes loaded. When I am at very active airports like KSFO, KLAX, EGGL, EGGF, KDEN etc. I gets lots of traffic, both in the air and terminal. To me this is one very important reason to monitor both RC and FSATC on comm 2. When I am waiting for takeoff at a busy airport, I both monitor FSATC and I "WATCH" the inbound planes. If the airport, with AFCAD is running landings on a single runway, then I try to pick another runway. For example I did a flight from KSFO to KEWR. At KSFO the active runway for takeoff was 28R, then I used 28L for takeoff and everything went fine except for my getting to the runway (grin). This is just an exciting hobby that is just getting better. Let us know if you are still having the AI problems.CheersBob Johnson
