Missing german chatter wavs?

Featured Replies

In case of misunderstanding of the manual's content (pg 102):

Hi Chris,No misunderstanding, I think the manual's in error here. The winwoodgermany folder is there to make it easier for users to add their own pre-recorded German chatter if they have some. RC doesn't come with any I'm afraid. All the best,John

Thanks for your input, John.I've thought, I've not been able to find the files within the winwood subfolder. ;)

Chris,John is correct when he indicates that the German folder does not contain German accented chatter. However you can find excellent German accented chatter on the various web sites like AVSIM and FLIGHTSIM.COM sites. When you add them into the appropriate folders you get excellent canned chatter. The manual portion that talks about the chatter is addressed on how to add canned chatter to your winwood folder. If you need some help doing this just post it here and we will help you thorugh adding some great chatter.Bob JohnsonRC Beta Tester

Thanks for your help, Bob.I have found some old chatter files from Tempelhof Ground and Tower on my harddisk.I created a folder called "eddi" and made subfolders "gnd" and "twr" and put them in.Now I have a nice working background chatter for the next departures and arrivals:)

are you the "owner" of that chatter? or do you know who we might contact to ask permission to use it?if anyone wants to donate chatter, let me know. i'll set it up for everyone to use.

Hi John,an inner voice told me, that I have to expect that question. ;)Well, these sound files are selfrecorded with a little airband receiver, you know.Due to the fact, that recording and even listening of those frequencies for unauthorizized persons are strictly forbidden in germany, all rights for these recordings reserved by the DFS (german aviation surveillance). So in that case - I'm the user, not the owner. That would be the reason, that you won't find legalized german chatter wavs on websites. At least not that I remember...
