RCV3 and Flight Deck Companion.... urgent help needed

Featured Replies

Hi Sam, Happy Holidays!!!I run RC3 with FS_Meteo and FDC, and sometimes an FSGarmin 530 ot 430 all on an old PIII 866/512mb, with gforce2mx40064mb video card. As long as I start FS Meteo, then RC then FDC it all works. I am running Windows 2000, SP3 (which I think is really stable for MSFS) If I set RC to HIGH or ABOVE Whatever, all is fine until I position and hold, when cleared, I spool up and that's it ... all the take off noise ... no takeoff ... I just sit there ... if I go to the task manager and reset the priority ... I hold onto the stick, because as soon as i leave the task manager ... I am zooming down the runway!!! so much for multitasking ... hahahaha.Honestly, I don't find the "speech slowness" all that much of a problem, I actually can understand what they say easier ... Ich bin eine alte mench ... hahahaha ... and my brain is on slow these days .. seems as the flight progresses, the RC voices speed up .. still better than MSFS ATC ... especially at the end when they tell you "You can fly in their airspace any time"Personally, the FS_Meteo, RC3 and FDCs are "must haves" along with your favorite aircraft .. they really provide a thoroughly challenging experience ... (even if it is not all smooth as silk)"So many planes, so little time"Good luck!

@ YoshiThank you very much for your kind help! I checked all possible combinations within the task priorities. If I level them all to the same priority it works flawlessly, true. However, this implies to accept slower speech in RC. I corresponded with FDC's Dave March. He recommended to deselect all takeoff calls. I did, but the problem persists. There were no calls that time but the freeze came up again a few seconds after releasing parking brakes. Most probably there is a buffer problem which doesn't rely to the calls, but to the situation itself. @ PBenoitThis all leads me exactly to your point of view! I have to cope to either slower speach in RC or simply don't run FDC and RC simultaniously. But as you said, both addons are absolutely must haves and FS should never be run without! After all that hassle my brain decelerated as well and I might be better off to have RC speaking slowly and distinctively!! *LOL* Who knows, there might be someone out there with the solution of striking simplicity before FS2004 will be released! Hahahaha!!Best wishes and a bunch of thanks to all of you out there!!Sam, LSZH

Just to add anothers' experience here... I find that starting (in order) FS2k2, RC3, FSmeteo, then FDC with ALL set to LOW priority solves everything for me! I don't even have a problem with the controller speech speed...! :7Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo
