I tried to set up a flightplan for learning to fly holding pattern at Biggin using DF734.However, Center will not give me the option for Holding pattern or Delay Vectors, but will always give me delay vectors, although holding option is set to 100%, BIG(115.10) VOR is the last waypoint and Otto is sleeping.My flightplan is EHAM to EGLL @15000 (Alt1-EGSS, Alt2-) / EH029.VALKO.DVR.LYD.TIGER.BIGCan someone tell me why I do not get the option to choose Holding Pattern at BIG?Bert

how far is BIG from EGLL?if it is more that 5 miles (i think), then you will always get delay vectorsthis is because you will be getting a "new crossing restriction" as opposed to an "old crossing restriction"

Bert,- For holding to occur, your final checkpoint has to be a VOR or VORTAC that's at or closer than 5m from arrival field. There is no way to change the 5m. I sounds like you're not going to practice holding at this particular airport.- New/Old are terms we used in development, and are of no consequense. The important issues are, VOR or VORTAC and distance. Of course (as you're doing), you must be flying, not Otto.
