Pls Help With Co-Pilot

Featured Replies

Not sure whats wrong but I take off and am given clearence to flight level 120. I fly to 12000 ft , level off and give the plane to the co-pilot. She acknoledges but then starts to climb!! I finally quit at fl 180. The flight before was the same thing only I gave control during the climb and once again copilot just kept climbing. Also she's trying to climb at 6000 fpm. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

if it is a plane with stock ms auto pilot features, check to make sure that the autopilot is engaged, alt-hold and hdg-hold are engagedif it a dream fleet, pss, pic, or any of these fancy planes with their own autopilot, rc can't handle those planes

I had something similar happen while flying one of the new MelJet 777's (United) out of LAX last week. Once the aircraft was given to the co pilot, (around 5K), with all AP settings made (ALT, HDG, ...), VS set to 1800 FPM, the 777 kept stalling! I even went to manual speed control and wide open throttle and could not hold the climb rate that it was attempting. Finally aborted the flight to DEN.Another question is on the overhead panel in the MelJet there are switches for AP functions. What do these do? I had them on in addition to the ones on the main panel.Going to try the same PLN this week with one of the other aircraft and see what happens.

The MelJet failed again in the LAX to DEN plan. I used the same plan with another 777 that I had (Camile Vasquez SP??) and it worked just fine, no stalls, and the auto pilot did a great job all the way to Denver. With the MelJet 777, I followed all the instructions, mamually flew the aircraft to 2-3K and turned it over to the copilot CS-K and CS-M. We were cleared to FL150 and she set the altimeter to 15000 and VS was set to 1800 fpm. I had IAS set at 220 knots and AP engaged. A/T and FD were also both on. The aircraft stalled at about 8000. Flaps were at "0".AS I mentioned before, did the same thing with another 777 and all went well. I have tried the MelJet 777 four times now with RC3 and have had the same problem with stalling on Auto Pilot. Has anyone else seen the same thing happen?

Has anyone else seen the same thing happen? This has nothing to do with RC3. Unfortunately, Mel's 777 has some problems with either the .AIR or aircraft.cfg files (or both!). I'm afraid it's a case of wait and see if anyone can come up with a fix for it, or get another 777. Similar things happen with the later POSKY aircraft - they tend to stall for no apparent reason.Hope this helps.Keith....Wherever you go, there you are...

Hi Guys,Looking at the post, I see the same omission, what panel are you using? If you fly the MelJet 777 with the default MS 777 panel, Jamie (Co-Pilot), should have no prolbems flying her. If you use the PSS panel, the co-pilot CANNOT fly her. The PSS, PIC, and DF panels DO-NOT except any outside input to their AP's.The RC controls were designed ONLY for the default type MSFS auto-pilots. In my case where I fly the PIC767 I use the CP only for freq changes etc.Hope this helpsCheersBob Johnson
