Compatibility issues with FSTraffic2002

Featured Replies

HI, I was just wondering since FSTraffic2002 is getting ready to come out.... Would there be any compatibility issues with RCV3?? I realize that FSTraffic creates it's own traffic and I didn't know whether RC is solely based on FS2002's AI traffic or if it's flexible with other "traffic" creating software. Thanks for any help!!

if the traffix is in the fsuipc tables, i'll see it. there is a program called trafficlook.exe that is included with fsuipc. if trafficlook sees the traffic, so will i

OH okay.... so I assume that the fsuipc already has that program (trafficlook.exe)in it then? In other words, theoretically, it should work whenever it comes out. I don't have RC yet, but I will probably get it for sure, but I was also contemplating on getting FSTraffic2002 because I used it for FS2000 ( with a version of fstraffic designed for "2000"). I just wanted to see if there would be an issue before I put down any money on it. Thanks Jd!!

CKonrad,Beware that FSTraffic 2002 is very different from the previous version. FS2000 didn't have any ATC, so FSTraffic had to simulate that. (At least, that's what I heard, I never owned the product.)As far as I can tell, FSTraffic 2002 is similar to MyTraffic, which exists well with RC3. It's really "just" a way of making the standard traffic more "rich" and realistic. The more realistic presence of airlines and GA traffic enables the built-in ATC system to produce much more interesting conversations, but RC3 is unable to profit the same way. Other than that, you should have no problems.

>Beware that FSTraffic 2002 is very different from the >previous version. It's not even a newer version of the old FSTraffic. It's a completely different program...the two don't have anything to do with each other. For some reason Lago gave this other company the right to use the "FSTraffic" name on their product. From what I read on the new FSTraffic web site, MyTraffic seems like a better program.Sidney Schwartz [KPDX]MyTraffic/Radar Contact/FSMeteo/FSSE/FSassist/FDC

>From what I read on the new FSTraffic web site, >MyTraffic seems like a better program. Enjoying MyTraffic more and more every day, I second that. Essentially, the products strive for the same thing, but it seems to me that MyTraffic is way ahead. Unfortunately, I think FSTraffic sells much better because it comes in a nice box with the label of a previously successful product printed on it.
