Saved Flight Freeze

Featured Replies

I tried the saved flight option when I first got RC3 and it worked fine. I haven't used it since then and tried again today. After I press load the status bar goes immediately half way, then stops with the progress saying "Loading FS STate". It just freezes and I have to CTR-alt del to get out of RC with the usual "this program is not responding" message. Any ideas what's wrong? I have FS runnning with the correct aircraft selected, I have the 3.01 patch, 1gig ram, and everything has been OK so far. Thanks.

make sure you have flightsmyfltsxxx.flt, flightsmyfltsxxx.ws and rcv3savedxxx.dat files all with the same date and approximate time. where xxx is the saved file namejd

Thanks JD. Since I last used the saved option I obtained FSMeteo and used weather file from a recent date. I bet that was the problem. I'll check that out. Regards, Tom

jd,I checked the three files you mentioned: xxx.flt, xxx.wx, and xxx.dat. All three have the exact name (KDSM-KORD Approach) and all three dates and times are exact. I still get a complete lockup after clicking LOAD when the blue slider is at the "FS STATE" point. Again it completely locks up RC. Any other ideas? Thanks.

JD,I just saved another flight using the second tutorial (KBNA-KMEM) and had the same results. Saved flight was named KBNA-KMEM TAXI. Total lockup of RC at the same point-"Loading FS State" and the only way out is ctrl-alt del. Regards, Tom

JD: In case you didn't get my last message regarding my saved flight lockup problem, I tried a flight with the default Cessna and had the same results. Interestingly, the first time I tried to save a flight it created a flt and wx file in FS but never made a dat file. I retried and got all three files, but the same lockup. Any other ideas? I'm at my wits end. Regards, Tom

me too. i've sent your files to the beta testers, no problems. no problems on my machine.i'm going to upload a new build later tonight, download it, and see if the problem goes away. this build fixes a problem with load/saving dats with fs2004, maybe it will fix your problemjd

JD, I guess you could say I'm throwing in the towel in solving this. I uninstalled and reinstalled RC3 and then RC31. I then had two workable icons, one for 3.0 and the other for 31. i tried saving and loading using both versions and got a lockup everytime. I even got the dreaded "MS FS has encountered a problem and needs to close" crash using 3.1 with FSMeteo active, after listening to ATIS. Again, everything was fine back in Feb when I first got RC as far as saving goes. The only changes have been FSBuild 2.0, FsMeteo, and Ultimate Traffic. I think I'm going to take a nice long walk to calm down.
