I've downloaded and properly installed the 2191 beta, plus the .wav updates. Everything seems fine in FS2002. But, in 2004, I can't get it back to full-screen mode once everything's loaded. I THOUGHT I had fixed it by changing the order of opening/loading, but that only seemed to work for the default Lear. When I switch to full screen with the default 182, for example, it goes to a 3/4 black screen (desktop partially visible) with a constantly flickering hourglass, as if it's trying to perform an operation it can't. I let it go for five minutes like that but to no avail. Dunno where the problem is coming from. Box is Athlon 1.4/512mb ram/windows 2000/128mb radeon 9100 video card w/latest drivers. Advice? Thanks.

yes; latest video drivers. problem only happens in 2004, not 2002. i did get it to work once...but that's the only time. i'm not sure what the conflict might be.

Same problem here. Flickering screen when FS9 tries to get back to full screen mode, after starting RC (but also I think with WRXe 1.9 too. So, I don't think its just an RC issue. I'm using the registered latest version of FSUIPC too.I'm using a Radeon 9700 pro with the 3.5 Catalyst drivers, but this also seems to be an issue that is not video card specific. So, it may be a FS9 bug, or maybe FSUIPC?Frustrating, and doesn't seem to be experienced by all FS9 users. Would be interested to know who has not had this problem and what their video card config is, etc.

i noticed last night, while running fsmeteo, as it was updating the weather for neigbring airports, the fs screen blinked.when the weather updates were finished, the blinking stopped.what happens when you don't start activesky, does it still blink?jd

It APPEARS the problem is not with third-party software; rather, a bug in 2004. If you use the Windows keyboard key to minimize 2004 and start RC, the full screen WILL return when you click on 2004 in the taskbar. It malfunctions when you use alt-enter...at least it does for me. Weather does not seem to be a factor. I tried it with downloaded and generated weather and there was no difference.

Sean, I think you are referring to Alt/Tab to reduce FS9 to the taskbar, right? Anyway, I tried that, and it works! I haven't tried it with ASWXRe yet, but will do that.JD, I've noticed with a memory intensive aircraft, such as the PMDG 737, I get a bit of hesitation/flicker while I suspect the weather is being downloaded, at least with FS Meteo 6.1. I have'nt gotten Active Sky to work yet, but will after this, with Sean's suggestion.Thanks.

...tried that but found no difference. alt-enter causes flashing. windows key (minimize full-screen) does not.

Alt/Enter doesn't work for me, but Alt/Tab does, for whatever reason. I don't have a Windows key (minimize program-and I've got an MS Internet Keyboard Pro-, which has more buttons than I ever use.)When using Radar Contact or ASWXre/FS Meteo 6.1 I just Alt/Tab to minimize FS9 to the taskbar and then open RC, etc, do my thing and then Alt/Tab FS9 back. Seems to work just fine.
