Changing from Prop to Jets

Featured Replies

Hi AllI have installed the Constellation L049A from FSDZIGNS, and due to its slow decent, I am missing my crossing restrictions. If I change the type of aircraft such as Jet to Prop will that increase the length of the distance to reach the crossing.Tks. in advance for any assistance.Kenny G.

Hi JDYes I am, but you have to be careful you do not decend to quickly or your engines will shutdown. One way around this would be using the Notams for arrival or flying at a lower altitude.Tks. for your reply J.D. this is not a major problem, I was just wondering if changing the prop jet settings would make a difference.Have a good day.Kenny G.

are you able to slow the plane during the descent?jd

Hi JDI try to pitch for a 150 to 200 knot decent speed at about 1,200 FPM but I seem to miss the crossing restriction by several hundred feet.As you know Radar Contact gets to give the final word which is "not bad, but watch that crossing restriction".Since I posted this J.D. I did several flights and exceeded the decent speed by using 1,800 FPM and have been able to come within the limits of the crossing.I can live with this decent it does not seem to affect the engines thanks for your interest.Kenny G.
