June 14, 200520 yr Does RC have the ability to ask ATC to exceed 250 k below 10,000 feet?If not will it in the next version?JimCYWG
June 14, 200520 yr Moderator Hi Jim,v3 does not allow you to exceed 250kts below 10,000ft whether you're climbing or descending. However, in v4 you will have the option at non-FAA airports to choose "No ATC speed restriction" but this only applies to departures. Approach still requires that you stick to the speed limit :-)Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). June 14, 200520 yr Actually v3 has the 250kt speed restriction on departure, long as you have checked "heavy" on the Options/Plane Data page.Joe Lorenc Joe Lorenc
June 14, 200520 yr Moderator Joe,It's been a long time since I flew with v3 but I suspect you'll still get busted for exceeding 250/10000 evem with the heavy option ticked. Hence the reason we Brits specifically requested it be changed for v4. There are other changes too for non-US airports but I wouldn't want to spoil it for you ;-)Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England).
