June 14, 200223 yr Hi, has anyone else noticed that using PAI planes, for example at KSAN, near the end of runway 27, the AI planes taxing to 27 for takeoff start to taxi very very very slow...almost like they stop and move stop and move, it takes them forever to taxi to runway 27, I have to tried runway9. Anyone else eperience this? Is there anything that I could do, Im assuming they do this at other airports too. Thanks,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)

June 14, 200223 yr Good morning Bill. This is "Bad Weather" heather.I haven't experienced your problem as I almost exclusively fly DC-3's.The only reason I am replying is because I was wondering if you have tried that utility I have seen posted here on occasion by the name of, I believe, AI Taxi Speed, or something like that. I haven't personally tried that one yet; too many other irons in the fire at the moment, but thought it would be at least something you might want to check out.If you do, let me know how it works out.Good luck!Cheers!Heather
June 14, 200223 yr Just ran across the file while browsing "Whats New" in AVSIMs file libraray.File Description:Adjust AI aircraft ground traffic speed. (CW)Filename: aispeed.zip Added: 13th June 2002 Downloads: 826 Author: Andy Robinson Size: 67kb Hope this helps you.Cheers!Heather
June 14, 200223 yr Heather,I downloaded it, but have to executed the file yet..I do not know what it will do to FS2002 and its traffic....has anyone else tried it?Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
June 14, 200223 yr Author Seems to work fine here. I increased the straight line speed to 23 kts, the sharp turns to 5 kts and the wide turns to 7 kts. This seemed to not only speed up the planes, but also made them move more smoothly! Great job, Andy!-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
June 14, 200223 yr Seeing your results Tom, I'm definitely going to have to install it myself now. Sounds good!Heather
June 21, 200223 yr Tom, was there a 2nd Taxi Speed editor? The one I dl'ed only edited the main taxi speed, not turning.
June 21, 200223 yr G'Day Bob!I'm not sure which one Tom is using. Seems like I have seen another out there. The one I mentioned, aispeed.zip by Andy Robinson, allows you to put in multiple settings as Tom described.Being a small zip file it takes only a moment to download it at 67k.Here's a pic:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d13129966c85f12.jpgAfter what Tom has said about it, I tried it out with his settings and am very pleased with it.Good luck!Heather
June 21, 200223 yr Hmm, ok.. That doesn't seem to be the same one I have. I have the taxispeed.zip by Todd Stottlemire of Add A Gate fame. Can you Email me the other? Thanks a Bunch!
June 21, 200223 yr I'll be more than happy to Bob except that I can't put attachments with email going outbound through AVSIM. Show me your email addy (or send it to me if you don't wish to display it here) and I'll get it on it's way.Cheers!Heather
June 22, 200223 yr Got you Email & Attachment.. Thanks! Is there a website out there that still has it available for DL?
