Do I need RC4

Featured Replies

For all you guys who know this program, please let me know if you think that I need RC4 for the type of flying that I do and if RC4 even supports the ATC type of flying that I do?1) I fly the Beech Baron exclusively, (so a GA type aircraft)2) I try to make it as realistic as possible contacting ATC when entering controled airpace and all that just like in real life (I am a slave to the SoCAL sectional chart... :) So again I try to make it very much like it would be flying their in real life.3) My flying is about 80% VFR without a flight plan as I want to fly around without a real "strict" type of flight from A to B so therefore my communication with ATC is just when I need to cross an airspace and then I simply request to trasit that airspace and when I am off I squawk 1200 again.4) about 10% or so I guess is with a VFR flight plan when I know that I want to go to a specific location.5) The rest of the flights are IFR when the weather is not VFR conditions. My dilemma here is that RC4 seem very much like a Flight plan based strict ATC program which is fine if you fly mostly IFR and especially in fast jet aircraft but does RC4 support flying without a flightplan just contacting Tower and when leaving the clas D airspace "off I go" sightseeing and only occasionaly check in with ATC if crossing controlled airspace (This is a form of flying which is very realistic in the real GA world, isn't it?!) and the deafault MSFS ATC supports it.Please let me knowThanks a lot.RegardsMichael

Hi Michael,You are quite correct that RC basically simulates IFR flights and very definitely requires a flight plan to be filed. If you wish to fly in the way you described then, no, you probably don't need it. You'd love it for those 10% of flights in IFR conditions though! All the best,John

Michael,>>This is a form of flying which is very realistic in the real GA world, isn't it?<
