December 21, 200520 yr Hi,My RCV4 cd finally arrived Australia yesterday (not pre-ordered), I was so excited about it, however, after installation, I knew I would not be able to use RC4 in the near future, here is the reason:The installation was smooth, after copying all the files, I clicked "Launch Radar Contact 4" and wait...... oops. no responds, double clicked again... still no responds. Suddenly I recalled somewhere in the forum mentioned that your Windows language setting have to be "English" in order to run RC4. So I changed the setting from Chinese to English, and restarted the computer. I tried again, double clicked "Launch Radar Contact 4", phew, the beautiful splash screen finally showed up. I was not happy however, because *I just can't change my language setting or all my programs installed will be messed up*, for example, my Outlook Express can't open all my email archives anymore because it can't locate the database; Programs showing '??' instead of Chinese characters. This is not the first time I bought a FS addon which doesn't support international languages. Last time I bought F1 C172R and the digits on the radio panel just didn't show up. Again, I have to change the language setting to English in order the radio panel can work properly. I posted my problem (like this time) on simforums and out of my surprise, the author, Jim, worked with me together, sorted out the problem and modified their code in a very short period of time to solve the problem. As a result, I really hope my answer to my problem will not simply be "change the language every time you want to run RC4". It is an answer but not a solutionI will appreciate any efforts which try to solve this problem. Finally, I emailed my registration 10 hours ago but still can
December 21, 200520 yr Hi Dick,I'm not sure what the situation is on the language settings once you have registered RC. As far as the activation codes are concerned Rick, who handles that, has been visiting jd with Doug today and that's why they are taking a bit longer than usual. All the best,John
December 21, 200520 yr John,I don't think register or not will make any difference, because if my language setting is not English, I won't be able to open RCV4, not even the registration screen asking you to send registration email/input the activation code. Thanks!Dick
December 22, 200520 yr Hi Dick,Hopefully jd can give some more info. He's been busy today visiting the folks who are distributing the cd's for us but I'm sure will be back on the forum soon. All the best,John
December 22, 200520 yr No problem John. I also heard the news many days ago and I just forgot today is "the day". Thanks!Dick

December 23, 200520 yr Trust me John, I'll never want to refund RC and I'm willing to wait until the problem is solved. I just hope I won't be disappointed.
