December 23, 200520 yr I've had V4 (my first) about 4 days.I have spent time with the manual and made 3 flights. All with the Dreamfleet Baron. Very nice plane. I can make this short and sweet.I'm loving this program. To have ATC anywhere and time I want to fly is a treat. Thanks guys, it was worth every penny.Lou MayersP.S. I'm an old instrument rated commercial pilot and CFI. Inactive.
December 23, 200520 yr You're welcome. You may also be happy to know I'm using the freeware "FSMetar" real weather program and it works just fine with RC4.
December 23, 200520 yr The greatest thing about this program , is just that, you can fly anywhere , anytime and still have excellent ATC. Many times using Vatsim, my flight would be determined by controller availability where I wanted to fly. The majority of times I had to change my route to fit controller coverage. This was even more of a problem flying Virtual Airlines like the UPS VA I fly for. I would have a flight from point A to point B, and would have these scenarios to chose from:1. Fly Online with no ATC, only Unicomm and no AI at all during off hours for Vatsim coverage where I am flying. This lack of coverage is generally weekday mornings and afternoons, and late at night and early on weekends, coverage is sparce or non-existant. In many areas of the US, there is very little coverage anytime. 2. Fly with AI and no ATC, off line3. Fly with FS9 ATC and AI ( I won't even discuss this option ;) ) Now I can fly with AI, and good ATC, anywhere and anytime I want. I have flown into airports in the last couple of days, that I would have never flown into using Vatsim, since I now don't have to worry about controller availability. This, for me, RC4 takes FS9 to a whole new level.
