December 25, 200520 yr Hi EveryoneJust a minor point re: frequencies.I do a lot of my flying out of London CYXU which is controlled by Toronto Centre. When I get clearance from London CYXU Tower freq. 119.4 and become airborne I am advised to contact departure Toronto Centre freq. 135.3 .This is the correct freq. As I have listened to the Toronto Centre ATC on the scanner. When I am flying inbound to London, I am asked by Toronto Centre after receiving the weather what runway, and type of approach I want.I am then given Altitudes by Toronto Centre and am in control of the aircraft not the co-pilot.The correct Toronto Centre Freq. Is 135.3 when you are approximately 40 DME from London but this freq. Is never issued by Toronto..When I am 10 DME I am turned over to Tower 119.4 which is the correct Freq.Hope this is not too confusing, but was wondering if the correct Freq. 135.3 could be used on the arrivals to London.Great program, have never been told to do a miss approach, and have never been overtaken by a faster aircraft on landing. My AI traffic is set to 100%Program works as advertised.Everyone have Merry Xmas and a great New Year for 2006.Kenny G.
December 25, 200520 yr Commercial Member cyxu is a tower/ground only airport, so departure and arrival duties are handled by the center controller, in this case toronto centeri'm guessing you don't get told to switched to 135.3 because you are already on toronto center when you're 40 miles out? what center/freq are you on at 40 miles out?also, i don't think i switch centers on you, while inside 40 miles of the arrival airport, which might also be the problem. at least i don't think we do. maybe we do. i can't remember. too complicated for one guy to keep track of.doug might know.......jd JD Read my blog
