December 30, 200520 yr I have not been able to use RCV4 yet due to the dreaded Run Time 75 Error:Run Time Error "75"radarcontact.rcv4module.rcv4codemainThis happens during or immediately after take-off. I receive clearance to take-off and then RCV4 goes dead. I maximize the RCV4 window and the error is displayed. I do have the appropriate boxes checked for the folder that my flight plans are stored in.Thanks in advance,Bruce SheridanSt. Marys, GA.
December 30, 200520 yr Hi Bruce,A couple of questions just to clarify things. Are you running RC on a widefs setup? If so when you say you have the appropriate boxes checked those are the ones to share the folder over the network and allow network users to change your files? Are you using autosave? If so is it saving it's files in the folder you mentioned? All the best,John
December 30, 200520 yr Nope. No WideFS for me. It appears that Autosave is on although I can't remember if I did it intentionally, or, is it a function of RCV4? "Share file with network" and "Allow network users to change my files" are both checked.BAS
December 30, 200520 yr Commercial Member run time error 75 is path/file access errorwhen autosave kicks in and does a save, rc will make a .rcd file to go with it. i attempt to write the file the same place autosave does.if that path doesn't exist, autosave must be gracious, and ignore the request to save. but i still try to save it there.check the autosave configuration, and make sure the path where autosave is saving to, is valid, and "writable"jd JD Read my blog
January 2, 200620 yr Hi JD:Finally got a chance to run FS9/RCV4. But first, I removed the autosave DLL (never used it anyway) plus I realized I was using the wrong one of a dual RCV4 shortcut and removed the second one. Flew ATL-JAX no problems.I do have a question about slow speech response. I do not have simultaneous response after key entry and wondered where I could look to do a fix. I do use End-it-All and also kill the Norton stuff when flying. Thanks & Happy New Year,Bruce Sheridan
January 2, 200620 yr Commercial Member you have two rcv4 shortcuts? simultaneous response after a key stroke is going to be hard to accomplish. it takes time to wake up the pilots ;-) or sometimes the controllers ;-)jd JD Read my blog
January 2, 200620 yr The dual shortcuts were my fault.I was reading in a different post that the audio repsonses should be fairly quick and mine appear not to be. They seem more like RCV3 when I had Win ME and had not yet set the proper priority. I have XP now and apparently priority-setting is not a requirement.I don't have a seperate sound card at the present and maybe that contributes to the slowness. I'll run DXDIAG also and see what happens. My system is a Athlon 64 3200+, 1G Mem, FX5900 Graphics Card.BAS
January 2, 200620 yr Commercial Member a seperate sound card would be helpful. sound processing is playing second fiddle to all the other processes running on your machinejd JD Read my blog
January 6, 200620 yr Hi,>run time error 75 is path/file access errorI've reported having an error in a different thread, and now found it's exactly this one.My debug log says:------------------- snip --- file =Til_CDokumente und EinstellungenAdministratorEigene DateienFlight Simulator-Dateiena-abflug rwy 34 noMove#####.rcd 132 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>ERROR> 75 RadarContact RadarContact.rcv4module.save_rcstate------------------- snip ---This happens when/if I save the flight from the FS9 menu (shortcut). You don't give an answer here on how to avoid the error. What should I do to solve this? How do I tell RC where to save the rc-portion of data?RegardsTilman
January 6, 200620 yr in adding to my earlier message:I have read an other thread on this and have since changed the network sharing privileges as suggested. Hope this will help with this error.I have *not* been aware that this could be a problem, since RC runs under admin privileges and should be able to write to all my folders + files on the system HDD (no write protection there).Tilman
January 6, 200620 yr Commercial Member if the folder is shared as read only, then it doesn't matter what your priviledges arejd JD Read my blog
