January 7, 200620 yr Hi!I have added some chatterfiles for Europe, but no matter how many i add - it doesn't seem to have any effect on Austria. There must be a library i miss, but... Can you tell me what library is covering Austria pls. :-)CheersLars
January 7, 200620 yr Hi Lars,Check out page 136 of the RC4 manual. The section shows how you can add your own chatter to RC.Cheers,Mike T.
January 7, 200620 yr Hi Lars,The folder covering Austria is Winwood384Where have you installed the files you want to play over Austria? If, for example, they are in winwoodgermany all you need to do is created an empty file called $germany.txt in the winwood384 folder. As Mike said the manual gives some instructions on how the system works. All the best,John
January 7, 200620 yr Hi - and thank's.. OK - that's me. I thought european countries all had a lower number and these high numbers where elsewhere. I can even see there's other european countries with these high numbers. Noticed Skopje. When i know where the library is, i have no problems installing the chatterfiles, so it works. And actually it works where i'm flying - it's just when i'm flying over Austria. (Haven't been near Skopje yet)... :-)But thank's again!!All the bestLars
January 7, 200620 yr Hi Lars,The easiest way to find which centre goes with which winwood folder is to open the rc4dataz4.csv file with wordpad. The entries start with the number and name of each centre.Wait until you hear some of our attempts at pronouncing Ljubljana ;-)All the best,John
January 7, 200620 yr LOL - i can imagine, John. And Tblisi also can make one bite oneself in the tongue.. :-)That file - z4.csv - is great, now i can just search for either the country or the capitol, instead of opening every single library. We all know Murphy's law!!! - no matter what way you search - it's always the last library you open!! :-))It's not that i got specific local files for all countries, but in europe i have a mixture of english, german and french chatter - except for Spain, which already have spanish files. Those i use for Portugal as well.Something else - wouldn't it be nice if the sound of the engines could come out through the loudspeakers (as now) and the chat out through the headset. I know it's not possible - it's neither/nor, but it would be more realistic.. Maybe someone could invent some kind of a device which allowed that one day?? :-)All the bestLars
January 7, 200620 yr Hi Lars,If you want to use the same European chatter files in several different areas do the following.1. Create a 'winwoodeurope' folder and place your chatter files in there (see the entries in winwoodusa for the naming conventions, they are the same as for the individual centre folders).2. In each centre where you want to hear this chatter create an empty text file named $europe.txt (delete any similarly named files that are already there). For example for austria create a file winwood384$europe.txt3. So now, if you are in Austria, if RC finds chatter for the relevant controller in the winwood384 folder it will play that. If there is no chatter in this folder it will play the chatter in the winwoodeurope folder. This means you don't have to make many versions of the same chatter files :-)All the best,John
January 7, 200620 yr Hey John! That's in general what i'm doing. Now - for e.g. South America, you've already made some libraries for e.g. Argentine and Brazil. There i have found it faster to add the files in these. But where you haven't already made any, i've made a $europe.txt which i copy into each library.I still haven't made any changes to Africa and the Middle East. Have to be creative in some way... Not smart to hear anything about traffic coming into London while you're flying over Nairobi... LOLSince i fly with real time, i hardly ever gets further to the east than India. Generally it's Europe, Middle East, Africa and then your continent, so i at least don't have to chase any asian chatterfiles.. heheAll the bestLars
