Hi all, I shall be installing Windows 7 Professional 64-bit around the Holidays, and would like to know if I can use my current RC installation, which is currently on a seperate HDD with all my other flightsim items. Or is it advisable to reinstall along with FSX and everything else? My concern is any existing registry entries with XP that may bugger it up if I leave it as is. Cheers, Mike T.

Hi Jeff,Are you using the Reality XP GNS with your aircraft? I had the same problem within the last day with my Carenado Cessna 182RG equipped with the RXP 530 GNS. I tried a flight with RC and the default C172 (NO RXP) and had no problem with 'tune on contact'. If you are using the RXP GNS, the culprit in my case turned out how the RXP GNS was handling the Radio Sync Mode in the RXP configuration program. In the one aircraft I had problems with, (mentioned above), I set the Radio Sync Mode in the configuration program to 'Full (bidirectional)'. The other two choices are GNS to simulation (my original setting) and simulation to GNS.If this is not the case, then by all means get a log over to JD.Cheers,Mike T.

Hi,Get the program. You will not regret it!!! You can turn off the default ATC sounds from within FS. (Settings >Sound)Reading the manual is a definite with RC - your flights will be considerably more realistic than the default MS ATC (and you won't be vectored into mountains!!!)Regarding the progressive taxi, as one of the other posters mentioned, have a good airport map and you'll be fine. Your experience will be more rewarding. Remember, real-world pilots don't have a pink line to follow to the gate. :( From what I've read in this forum, RC5 is still in the works. Hi,In my personal case, I changed out the default radios, etc.with Reality XP and other avionics. When I shut down after a flight, I manually turn off the GPS, Transponder, ADF and all radios first, then shut down the Avionics master switch. Granted, I'm not a real-world pilot, but I'd imagine that real-world pilots would not shut all Avionics off via the Avionics master switch, but turn their radios/GPS units off before doing so.Just a thought, hope it helps!Cheers,Mike T.

Hi,I would suggest that when you can, definitely get the full registered version of FSUIPC. The registered version has a whole host of things that can be adjusted. I personally consider FSUIPC (After RC and FSX) an absolute must for any flight simmer! You won't regret it...Now back to the 4:30 Movie.... :( Cheers,Mike T.

Hi Chuck,It sounds like you have gauges missing. Check the 'Gauges' folder of FSX, you should have about a dozen or so gauges that start with 'CessnaRG..' (both .gau and .cab). If they are not there, try an uninstall and reinstall of your aircraft.Hope it helps!Cheers,Mike T.

Hi all,I just wanted to add my two cents in this thread ... Today I flew the Seneca and encountered icing. Even though the Seneca is also fuel injected, I had to use the carb heat key (which was programmed in my CH Yoke anyway) to fix the matter. Hi Jim,Thanks for responding.Got it...my fault...:(I remembered that I adjusted the SwarmCloud.fx file to solve the popping cloud issue, but forgot to delete the Shaders folder under Documents and Settings. Hi all,Out of the blue and all of a sudden, I'm getting blocky cloud textures in FSX when using ASX.I used a historical weather file and though I didn't have this issue yesterday, I do today. There has been no changes to my hardware or driver set-ups.Am using FSX SP1, ASX Build 1169 (SP2), WinXP Pro SP2. Any suggestions as to what may be the cause?Cheers,Mike T.

Hi Andy,This is in reference to setting a hot key to open and close the RC AdvDisplay window. It can be done through FSUIPC, under the 'hot keys' tab.I use Ctrl + X to toggle the AdvDisplay. Hi Iain,Get yourself a decent quality microphone, since it will be voice only. The one I used for my sets was from Radio Shack, and not too expensive. I would also suggest some type of wav editor to remove as much from the beginning and end of each wav file. This will help those who do the final editing of the files.Another tip would be to try and say phrases as 'flat' as possible, for several wavs may be stringed together to make up different phrases.Hope it helps!Cheers,Mike T.PS to JD - If you need me to voice for v5, let me know!

Hi Stefan,First, check out your FSUIPC settings from within FSX first. Then try (after starting FSX and RC) CTL + SHF + W, the default command for bringing up the RC window. It happens to me sometimes, and this usually takes care of it.Hope it helps!Cheers,Mike T.

Hi,You could also do what I do - record chatter off the internet.I use LiveATC.Net http://www.liveatc.netThere are live or slightly delayed (for security) ATC feeds for many countries worldwide. I use my basic sound recording device to record them and edit them down in Creative Wave Studio, or any basic sound editor you can get your hands on. I save the chatter in 11025 kHz, 8 Bit Mono format. This saves disk space as this is radio chatter and not the New York Philharmonic. A Yahoo or Google search for 'ATC Chatter' will also help.Hope it helps!Cheers,Mike T.

Hi Ed,Just to echo the others...It's always a good idea to have the latest version. As FSUIPC is THE major interface for just about every FS add-on, including RC, that having the latest version is always a plus. If you have a registered version, you get full functionality. IMO, besides RC and FS itself, FSUIPC is one of the finest flightsimming investments you can make for yourself.Cheers,Mike T.

Hi Eytan,I record my live chatter from LiveATC.net at http://www.liveatc.net/There are many US, Canada and International feeds. They also have a mp3 archive of live feeds.I personally use the Recorder utility that came with my Creative Audigy sound card. Depending on how busy an airport is, I'll record 20 - 30 minutes of chatter. I'll then use the WaveStudio utility (a simple wav editor - included with Creative sound card software) to break up the file as to type per the manual. Make sure the file format is 8 bit mono (radio transmissions don't need stereo). Out of one editing session, I get quite a few usable wavs. The trick, of course, is to figure out which snippets are Ground, Tower, etc. The end result is most impressive!Hope it helps!Cheers,Mike T.
