July 21, 201015 yr When using RC with FS9 I toggle the display window off and on by pressing a button on the keyboard. I implement this functionality by assigning a button for it in FSUIPC.My question is simple this. Do I need the registered FSUIPC for FSX if I wan't the same functionality in FSX?
July 21, 201015 yr Yes. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
July 21, 201015 yr Since that display is a part of FSUIPC I'd try it with the non-registered version if that's all you need from FSUIPC.That being said you might want the registered version anyways to use for weather smoothing and maybe mapping your aircraft control sensitivities and assignments. As an example I use its non-linear sensitivity so its less sensitive in the center of the yaw (rudder) axis but maximum at the pedal end of travel. This avoids difficulty in taxiing for me. In line with this although I have not used it their is a "tiller" or fine tuned ground steering function. I think it will activate when your speed on the ground is below a certain IAS. It mimics what is done in many airliners for nosewheel steering during taxiing and the initial take-off roll and landing roll-out I believe. If you plan on using AES in FSX, search the forums here regarding avoiding the use of DWC which forces global weather in FSX and using FSUIPC to do your wind smoothing. It has to do with AI patterns and incorrect ATIS reporting. If you use this method you may need to have FSUIPC registered.
July 23, 201015 yr Author Since that display is a part of FSUIPC I'd try it with the non-registered version if that's all you need from FSUIPC.I already have the unregistered FSUIPC installed and I have used RC so in FSX. For now I can't toggle the display window which I would like.I'm considering trying out jet airliners also on FSX and if so I wan't to use RC.

The registered version has a whole host of things that can be adjusted. I personally consider FSUIPC (After RC and FSX) an absolute must for any flight simmer! You won't regret it...Now back to the 4:30 Movie.... :( Cheers,Mike T.
July 30, 201015 yr How can this be done? I was wondering how to hide it. I'm using FSX, registered FSUIPC. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
July 30, 201015 yr Both Registered and Unregistered users can set a toggle to hide and unhide the FSUIPC RC window (called AdvDisplay in the functions retained from the second message window no longer used.) Keep in mind that the window will reappear each time RC sends a command requiring a response thus hiding is only to be considered temporary. As an example, I hide the window when taxiing to get an unobstructed wider view of approaching turns. For Registered FSUIPC Users:Bring Up the Key Presses Tab. In the left side scroll down to the AdvDisplay Toggle function. Click SET and press the key combo you wish to use. For Unregistered FSUIPC Users:"For unregistered users, the AdvDisplayHotkey parameter can be configured in the FSUIPC.INI file (details are in the FSUIPC Advanced Users document)."Back up your FSUIPC.INI file in another folder. Edit the following into the General section:AdvDisplayHotKey=88,10This example sets Ctrl-X as the hot key. The Advanced Users Guide has all of the code tables to use your own key combo. How can this be done? I was wondering how to hide it. I'm using FSX, registered FSUIPC.
