Taxiing across the active runway

Featured Replies

I was at a KSEA gate and was cleared to runway 34R. I noted that there were about 10 AI aircract in front of me, so I requested runway 34L. I was immediately cleared to 34L with no reference to 34R. But, to get there, I had to cross the active runway, 34R (I don't think you can get to 34L without crossing 34R somewhere). I got no instructions from RC4 ground about what to do as I approached 34R so I just kept going to see what happened. Of course, I was rammed by an AI aircraft on its takeoff roll. I assume from this experience that RC4 ground does not monitor and handle aircraft movement unless they are taxiing to the active runway. Is that correct, or is my situation a future addition to RC5?Thanks. I am really enjoying RC4.

By the way, I just noted that the post time on this subject was 7:32 am, but my clock in US Eastern says 6:32 am. What time zone is the forum actually in?Thanks.

Hi Rick,You are correct, we're not modelling this yet. Keep your eyes open!I don't know if Doug has this on the v5 list, I'm sure he'll consider it.All the best,John

Hi Rick,Your post time here in Scotland read 11:32 so I suspect there is no one time zone. Just before and after! All the best,John
