Chatter for a specific airport

Featured Replies

Dear peopleHow can I make RC play some chatterfiles at a specific airport. I know how it works with centres and country specific regions but how can I make it play the files for a specific airport. Say I have some chatter files for EDDT (Berlin Tegel). I found some airport folders in the windwood folder like LSZH, LSGG. Do I just have to create a folder named "EDDT" with the the app, twr etc subfolders and put the files there?I know "rtfm" but I just couldn't find this information :( thanks for your help!Patrick

Hi Patrick,You've got it! Have a look at EGCC which I recorded wavs for. If the wavs are of good quality how about uploading them to AvSim so others can enjoy your work.Cheers,

Hi Ray!Thanks, I just did that but haven't tested yet. I guess it'll work that way. What I'm doing (I actually posted it just today in the same forum ;-) )is downloading archives from liveatc.net, convert the mp3 files to wav and split them up. It's a bit of work since I have to listen to the whole feed so I can split them in the right place. But the quality is great!I'm not very sure about the copyright on the files since they originally came from liveatc.net. I'll check with them and upload the files if I obtain the OK.Thanks for your helpPatrick

Hi Patrick,If you manage to sort out copyright then it would be helpful to ensure no single wav is too long. Maybe 10-15 secs max?Cheers,

Good news, I've just recieved the ok from liveatc.net to post the files! The files are usually around 5 - 15 secs. "plane-atc-plane" oder "atc-plane-atc". But some are longer, since I wanted to let them finish the whole comunication, around 20 - 25 secs. Is this a problem? I understand that they could be cut if synthentic ATC comes is? Patrick

hey SeanI have another little question for you. How is it with the folder ATC1-3. I have recorded some files from Zurich Radar FL230 - FL300. Do you know what exactly low, high and super high altitudes mean for those foders? Or shoud I maybe copy the files to all three of them so I can here the chatter on all levels?thanks for your help!Patrick

Hi Patrick,That's great. Leave them as they are. RC4 should cut in with an instruction when required. Thanks for your efforts.Cheers,
