January 31, 200719 yr I think that I have seen something similar to this in the forum but went back to mid August and couldn't spot it - so sorry if is a repeat. I have just upgraded to a gaming PC and all was looking well until it came to RC4's turn. Actually I was trying to load 4.2 and then later go to 4.3 (I had been using the latter OK before the upgrade but its icon has disappeared in the upgrade process). However, as soon as I click on the icon I get the following "Component 'MSINET.OCX' or one of its dependancies not correctly registered:a file is missing or invalid"Would appreciate any comments or help. Thankyou in anticipation.
January 31, 200719 yr Moderator Hi Don,That OCX needs registering. January 31, 200719 yr That .ocx active X control should on on your disk drive. What version of RC was delivered to you?In your folder options under tools in Explorer first insure that under View options, you have disabled hide system files and enabled show system files. Then search for msinet.ocx on your computer. if it is there follow the last FAQ at http://www.jdtllc.com/FAQ.htm substituting msinet.ocx for the other .ocx in the FAQ to see if that helps. If it is not there, or you still experience difficulties, it looks like your base 4.2 package got corrupted or components missing. As a system administrator privileged user try a reinstall and work your way up to 4.3. I'd guess that because you lost the icon in your upgrade process that several components are missing and you do need a reinstall. You will need in this case a new key anyway due to your system change. Be sure to make your key request with the same e-mail address you ordered RC under, or let RC create the e-mail for you and add your original e-mail address to the package.Responses are a little slow right now. If you don't get a response in 48 hours post your product ID and your original e-mail address and current e-mail address here in this forum.Search under register in this forum for more detailed instructions on how to format a key request e-mail.
January 31, 200719 yr Moderator Don,If you need a key send me a private message including your product id. I'll be around for another 3-4 hours.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England).
