Radar Contact, V4.0.3675

Featured Replies

Help, please, I'm a little confused now! I have loaded RC v 4.O.3675, and have another downloaded file RC401update.exe in my downloads folder! Is this update for v4.0.3675 or is it to update a previous version to 4.0.3675. Would appreciate some advice on this, please. AB68 [getting older and more confused daily]

3675 (4.0) is the first v4 release. Notes about Radar Contact 4.3Radar Contact version 4.3 is a point release for users of radar contact version 4.2the only enhancement is the ability to read xml based .pln files generated by fsxYou cannot and should not upgrade 4.0 or 4.01 to 4.3 - you must upgrade: 4.0 to 4.01 (http://www.davevollmer.com/rcv401update.exe) 4.01 to 4.2 (http://www.davevollmer.com/rcv4_3831.zip) 4.2 to 4.3 (http://www.jdtllc.com/v4/rcv4_3843.zip)or 4.01 to 4.2 (http://www.davevollmer.com/rcv4_3831.zip) 4.2 to 4.3 (http://www.jdtllc.com/v4/rcv4_3843.zip)or 4.2 to 4.3 (http://www.jdtllc.com/v4/rcv4_3843.zip)

Sorry to be a pain on this!. I have installed 4.01 update and the programme is showing version 3737. However I cannot go any further as the rc4 3831 containing rc4.exe [2973appication] will not go any further stating RCv3.dat not found and the prog. cannot continue. Where am I going wrong, please.

you probably ran the update, but you didn't specify the rcv4 directory where 4.0 was installedjd

Yes it is there, a 1kb data file, in C: Programme Files/rc4. I have also put a copy in the documents and SettingsMy nameLocal settingstemp folder, where on the very first attempt {Saturday] it stated the file could not be found. Still no joy. Surely I must be doing something wrong. I have uninstalled, re installed version 4.0.3675, loaded the update rc401 update.exe, and now the rc4.exe which was contained in the rc4_3831.zip will not go as described earlier! Is there much to be gained from continuing this, please?

let's start over, and go at this step by stepuninstall rc, delete all rc directories.install rc from the cd. what path do you have it installed to?is there a rcv3.dat file in that directory?jd

Hello again. May I first thank you for peresvering with me on this matter, especially on a Sunday. Ok, uninstall completed and all references to rc4 deleted using ADDremove prog.registry mechanic and manual deletion. RC4.03675 loaded in C:Program Filesrcv4, and yes, there is a file rcv3.dat file present.

now get the rcv401update.exe from http://www.davevollmer.com/rcv401update.exeand execute it. when it asks you for the path, specify the same path as your current rcv4 directory. the rcv3.dat file should still be there when you finishlet me know when you're done with this stepjd

Ok, done that and yes, the rcv3.dat file is there. Now showing 3737

Hi Jd, were back to where we started. The update 3831 will not go...the message is [unzipped is where I unzip files] C:unzippedrc4-3831rc3.dat was not found.RC cannot continue.

that should have read rcv3.dat file. Its still there a 1kb dat file dated 14/11/2005

where did you unzip the zip file? the rcv4.exe in the .zip has to go in the rcv4 directoryjd

So, the rcc4.exe application contained in the winzip file goes into the Rcv 4 directory, and so is not double clickable as with a normal application installation. Is that correct.?

Success with that, now showing 3831. Shall I do same with the 3843.zip???????
