Hello All,My question is what is the best way to use RC4 with FS2Crew, and the following aircraft that use FMC's for flight managementPMDG 737 600/700/800/900LDS 767-300Flight 1 ATR 72-500FeelThere ERJ 145 (no FS2C)Also I use FsNavigator and FSBuild for flight planning.Any informatiom will be helpful. Thanks in advance,Ed Lewis (edl)Lancaster CA

Hi Ed,I'm not familiar with FSCrew but perhaps someone who is can help you.Regarding using 3rd party aircraft and FMCs you can continue to build your plans with FSNav (I do the same) and then export the plan in FS9 format. FSBuild will have a similar feature and again, users of that can assist. This is what you should load into RC4. Import the plan into the FMC of the relevant aircraft using the advice given by the developers of that aircraft. When it comes to controlling your flight remember RC takes priority over whatever the FMC says. ;-) If you're ordered down earlier than the FMC say's then you can either start down then or request a Pilot Discretion (PD) which may or may not be granted depending on several factors. If you are granted one then you can use the FMC to control the descent but bear in mind you must be at 11000ft or 12000ft 40 miles from the arrival airport. That rule is not negotiable :-)Hope that helps.

When meeting the descent arrival 40 nm mile crossing restriction use the FIX page to put on your ND a 40 nm range ring around your destination airport (based on my PMDG 737NG procedure experience). Then you can adjust using V/S watching your descent trend arcs to insure they terminate before that range. The most efficient descent is at idle thrust so you may want to use a PD descent but usually the TOD mark on the ND takes this into account. Be aware that to meet altitude speed restrictions and get down soon enough you may need to use speed brakes later for a steep descent. Be sure to enter the speed restriction altitude I think on one of the PROG forecast pages or elsewhere. This is not the same as the descent TA.There has been a lot of discussion on FMC aircraft manipulation here. Just search on it.As Ray stated, ATC rules, not the FMC. Be sure you know especially for departure the FMC direct-to procedure when RC ATC states to resume your own navigation if you are getting departure vectors. You do not go back to the original flight path.Where approach control exists you may get a vectored approach so be prepared to use MCP control as needed. When you get the assigned runway, only then should you set it up on your ARR page primarily as situational awareness. If you are on a STAR make sure it is included in your flight plan for RC (FS9) and it matches the procedure in the FMC. (To insure this, I use the STAR based on arrival direction from the FSBuild database and export the plan to both the FMC and RC/FS9 to insure they are in synch). In most cases RC will follow the initial waypoints of the STAR and then, unless you select an IAP, break you out of it for vectors if appropriate.Hope this helps.
