EDDF problem....again it would seem!

Featured Replies

When trying to use FSNAV to create a flightplan into EDDF - EDDF is not recognised as a destination - so no descent is offered by ATCI am using a freeware add-on EDDF scenery.I note that this has been an issue before on the list but the afcad file that was offered as a fix seems to be no longer available....so I'm not sure what to do!Any help appreciatedPhil Webb UK

Please post a link to your EDDF afcad or zip it up and attach it here and I'll check it. Also tell us where it sits in your scenery folder and priority.I assume you ran the scenery rebuild since adding it.In addition search under KPDX in this forum. I've attached a beta version of makerwys.exe which sits in your FS9 folder that may solve the problem with your current AFCAD. Rename the existing makerwys so you can go back to it if necessary.

Ronthanks for the response.Taking the ideas you sent me I have now manged to get EDDF into the Flightplan and RC seems to now see it at least!Though I made the classic mistake of changing several variables at once thus denying the opportunity of discovering which was the culprit!!!I cleaned out and reinstalled my EDDF scenery and layered it at the top.I installed the makerways file and ran data base rebuilds in both FSNAV and RC and now all seems well....EDDF appears in the flight plan at least which it was not before - the acid test will be to try to fly it!the AFCAD misplaced all the a/c and there were several issues with it - so post rebuilding the databases I reinstalled a better one, though I have not rebuilt the data bases again in case it causes the problem again!!!!If I get more problems I'll come back - other wise thanks!Phil

There actually is a log of what the core component makerwys.exe does. It is in your FS9 folder and is called runways.txt. You can read this text file with notepad. If you search for EDDF you will first find a section dealing with the default airport. Keep going and you'll find the next related scenery or afcad file effects in order of priority in the next section. Usually the section will start with a delete all runways. If the add-on was not made with standard criteria, some lattitude was added in the beta version, so the runways would be recreated and recognised in the add-on. If the runways are added and not deleted in yet another EDDF section, the airport will get into the r4.csv and a4.csv RC data files. Makerwys uses the priority as set in scenery.cfg and within each scenery folder it searches and prioritizes alphabetically. Do not open these in Excel but copy them elsewhere if you wish to examine them with a text editor. If EDDF is present in those, then RC will use them if they are in your flight plan. Just don't use the ones in the RC data folder to examine, but make copies of them.If you open your flightplan in RC, go into the RC Controller Options panel. If RC sees EDDF its information will be in there.
