  1. Did you ever get the Wilga sorted....got the same issue here. TIAPhil Webb
  2. Sorry jd, I deleted it!Tried it again tonigh - all still well! Thanks againPhil
  3. OK - I might have stumbled across the problem here!?When I came back to simming the other day and fired everything up and trid to use it so unsuccessfully, one of the things I did was to do a flight plan in FS Nav, which first of all I exported as a radar contact file. I then remembered that you needed to export as an FS2004 file, which I then did. Then I tried to start RC with FS and the results are documented above.I noticed late on tonight, that the two versions of the file were still where I saved them, differing extensions, but identical file names. I had been importing the .pln file into RC, but I now wonder if 1) that file was corrupt, or 2) there was some sort of conflict with RC trying to read from both files? You will of course know more about the potential of this than I do - it's just a hunch really.Any, to try to rule everything out I could, I exported another copy of the flight plan in fs2004 format and saved it in another directory, RC's own directory this time in fact. Then I started FS, switched out of full screen mode, fired up RC, loaded the new plan from the new location, started RC, returned to FS and switched back to full screen mode SUCCESSFULY!I ran FS and RC for a few mins to test and it all worked very nicely indeed! Just like old times! So I think I am sorted.Maybe tomorrow if I get chance / time I will try to prove it by actually flying the plan.Comments? Thanks again for the good support....and RC of course! :( Phil Webb :( (UK)
  4. Apologies - not sure why 4.5 is stuck in my head! Wishful thinking perhaps??! :( My version is 4.0.3675 as installed - and now re-installed!I now have 4.3 downloaded ready to go! Not 4.5! Sorry, me mistake! As I had to have a new key for it yesterday after the reinstall, will I need another new key if I upgrade? I think I read that the upgrade technique was to uninstall the old version then install the new - so I guess I will need a new key.Anyway, I will try the .ini file bit you suggested first then maybe upgrade?Without RC FS runs just fine. It runs with other addons like Active Sky and Ultimate Traffic and so forth. What it doesnt seem to like is me loading a plan into RC and then returning to full screen mode. It used to, but not now, clearly something changed I just can't work out what. But I will try the inin idea forst. Thanks for the supportPhil
  5. Norman, thanks for getting back to me.I have done a number of things since I posted...I moed up to a later version of FSUIP...made no difference!I uninstalled then reinstalled RC (not the 4.5), No difference!I have upgraded to the latest Graphic card drivers, no difference.I cut my net connection and truned off my Avast! anti virus and that made a bit of difference! The switch back to fs used to result in a frozen FS screen and the hourglass mouse symbol and nothing else! Then I had to ctrl alt del FS and RC... Now the FS screen goes black, RC dialogue appears in the ADV box and then FS quits out all by itself and offers to send an erro report.! SO progress of a kind!Moving to RC4.5 is the next logical thing to do, wll try that later. Phil
  6. SirsAfter a lengthy absence of around 18 months I am back simming again! Life eh, just gets in the way!Anyway when I last used it RC was working very nicely, now it isn't!I am running the following combo...FS9, Active Sky 6.5 FSUIPC 3.53. under XP, err as I was when it was working fine.Tried to think what I might have done since last running it successfully...?I fitted a new Graphics card to the PC. Still in the nVidia family but a better spec (but still an old spec - not the latest card by a long chalk! :((I added a whole load of FS add-on software like scenery and a/c etc. recentlyNot sure if I updated FSUIPC in this time or not. On 3.53 now.I am running under XP - auto updated to the max!I try to alt return to get back to a full FS9 screen after dropping out of it to load a plan in RC and it just freezes needing a ctrl alt del to get out of it and FS and so on.Should I uninstall RC and reinstall it maybe? I now have 4.5 downladed, should I move up to that maybe?TIA Let me know if you need more info and I will do my best!Phil Webb
  7. Ok - no problem,just wondered!ThanksPhil
  8. Thanks Ron I understand that now! I was using the local pressure a tad early....IIRC the TA was 7000!OK!Phil
  9. Whilst flying the Tinmouse 737 I was cleared down to 9000feet on the local pressure setting apporaching EDDF (I was having trouble with EDDF being accepted by flight plans imported into RC but it is OK now). I dialled in the pressure setting to the altimeter, and descended to it. I maintained it +/- 20 feet or so , but got repeated warning that I had busted my cleared altitude resulting in a report! But I was flying the correct baro / altitude and maintaining it nicely!!!?What did I do wrong - or might I have soleved the EDDF flightplan issue - but got an AFCAD conflict somewhere resulting in a confused ATC???Upset!!!!Phil Webb
  10. On the Nav radios I notice the DME hold switch and an associated light that come on when the switch is thrown. Is this some sort of way to fly a DME arc during an apporach at all....and if so how does it work? I ask because my next flight requires a DME arc to be flown and it would be soooo useful!!!!TIAPhil Webb (UK)
  11. Ronthanks for the response.Taking the ideas you sent me I have now manged to get EDDF into the Flightplan and RC seems to now see it at least!Though I made the classic mistake of changing several variables at once thus denying the opportunity of discovering which was the culprit!!!I cleaned out and reinstalled my EDDF scenery and layered it at the top.I installed the makerways file and ran data base rebuilds in both FSNAV and RC and now all seems well....EDDF appears in the flight plan at least which it was not before - the acid test will be to try to fly it!the AFCAD misplaced all the a/c and there were several issues with it - so post rebuilding the databases I reinstalled a better one, though I have not rebuilt the data bases again in case it causes the problem again!!!!If I get more problems I'll come back - other wise thanks!Phil
  12. When trying to use FSNAV to create a flightplan into EDDF - EDDF is not recognised as a destination - so no descent is offered by ATCI am using a freeware add-on EDDF scenery.I note that this has been an issue before on the list but the afcad file that was offered as a fix seems to be no longer available....so I'm not sure what to do!Any help appreciatedPhil Webb UK
  13. Thanks BobDidn't get to brush up on my descent technique tonight after all...tomorrow maybe!Phil
  14. Hi BobThanks for the reply - I will alter my technique and try it tonight on a flight planned from Milan to Frankfurt!I have to say I keep discovering new things - like the DME switches on the Nav radios, nice. Not being a real world pilot though, I don't know why you might want to switch the DME off??One more question - there are some thumbwheel controlled number (windows) seperate to the Transpopnder itself, on the bottom right of the panel with the weather radar and computer on, what are they for?Loving this Tinmouse!Phil
  15. Hi thereCargo Tinmouse has quickly become a favourite a/c and I am loving it! ThanksHowever I have problems in the fianl phases of my descent and localiser/ILS capture with pitch and altitude and descent control. The ALT Hold on the autopilot seems to be rather inaccurate at low levels / speeds - say 6000 - 3500 feet, and when using it the plane will often go through a required altitude by a wide margin and then try to climb and recapture leading to speed fluctuations and a generally sloppy conrtol and porpoising!!!! =:(Now I wonder what the correct proceedure here is? Any advice from the real world gratefully received! It occurs to me that maybe I should be more manual in this phase and try to trim or use CWS to capture so that the descent rate is small before hitting ALT HOLD, or even to not hit it and to trim manually to maintain an altitude? CWS seems to become a little vague in this phase too?Help! In all other aspects I have few problems with control. Other than that it is all in there and a joy to fly!!!TIAPhil Webb
