July 5, 200718 yr I love RC4 and have one question. This is never an issue with FMC equipped planes because they allow flexibility in modifying a route with an ATC change such as a direct to change. My problem is with non FMC planes such as those using the default Garmin 500. When you are told to go direct to a new waypoint, it erases the 500 whole flight plan and just shows the direct to portion. Is there any workaround this? I hate having the whole route disappear except the direct waypoint. Thanks. TomP.S. For the record, I voted in the current poll and although it only let me vote for one choice, I fly both FMC and non FMC payware planes, the non FMC aircraft having a GPS such as the Garmin 500 or Reality XP 530. (Meridian).

July 7, 200718 yr Author Sorry JD,I wasn't trying to be offensive here and I'm sure not trying to get advice on the Garmin. I just wondered if there was any advice out there when a direct to order is given and one is using the Garmin what to do for the rest of the flight. Since most of the FS9 aircraft use the GPS I'm sure this limitation of the rest of the flight plan disappearing has come up with others as well. I realize this is not a problem with RC. Regards, Tom
July 8, 200718 yr If the direct to command is for a VOR you should be able to switch the Garmin to 'suspended' mode with the autopilot flying you directly to the VOR. Once you reach the waypoint switch back to GPS control, with the original FLP unharmed.
