I have recently purchased RcV4, and have had one sucessful flight on it. Overall, I'm happy with it, yet frustrated.My first flight was on the PMDG 747-400, SFO-IAD: both sceneries payware. Weather generator is ActiveSky V6 (FS2004), FSPassengers was also running. RC worked perfectly, and I enjoyed using it (although I wish there were a few more voices, and that they sounded less "robotic"). Note that the weather at IAD was low clouds and heavy rains, at sunset.Yesterday I attempted to fly AF39: IAD-CDG on the PSS/Meljet 777-300ER (PSS Panel on 777 Meljet). RC was working. I took off from Runway 30, and the gear wouldn't retract. I reset the flight 3-4 times, and each time, no functioning landing gear. Frustrated, I tried the same flight with the 777-200ER (Also PSS.Meljet). As with the 777-300 flights, RadarContact, Activesky, FSPassengers and a VA ACARS was running (this program is the least invasive). Weather at IAD was clear. On my first 3 tries, I would get a black screen, followed by CTD. If I waited until I was airborne, and away from IAD to switch over to OTTO, I would get the same black screen and CTD. Drivers, FSUIPC, etc. are up to date. The only other annomoly, is that RC has usually freezes when I try to close it.I enjoy this program, but I don't like how I have to be selective as to when I can use it.Any suggestions?

i think others are flying those planes, and maybe that scnery, without problems.i don't see how rc would prevent you from raising your gear. what is the key sequence to raise the gear?anyone else with those planes have any suggestion?directions are pinned at the top of the forum on how to generate a log, so i can look at what is going on.be sure to click debug before loading the .plnalso, be sure, you have done a "rebuild scenery database" in rcalso, be sure, you have the .flt/.wx path defined correctly, by clicking the .flt/.wx buttonif you can duplicate the problem, zip up the .log and send it to me.jd

JD,I followed all the steps beforehand (formatting for add on scenery, etc.) As for the frozen gear on the 773: neither hitting "g" nor clicking on the lever would raise it. However, when RC wasn't running, the gear functioned properly. I am attempting to re-install (this might help with the freezing upon closing the program). Will send you the report when I can try the flight again, tonight. Thanks!

This is a challenge indeed! Here's what I suggest you do...Load a default aircraft together with all your addon programs and load RC4 last. Does the gear problem occur? If it does then it's not related to the PSS/Meljet combo.If the problem doesn't exist start a new flight with the PSS/Meljet and try a flight only loading one of your addon program each time. Keep adding one program until the gear problem occurs. The last program loaded would be the suspect.I appreciate this kind of problem is frustrating but the only way to identify the problem is by a process of elimination.Personally I suspect the PSS/Meljet combo which were not designed to work with one another. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of it.Cheers,
