February 21, 200818 yr Hi Everyone,Well, I was finally able to get Radar Contact running without locking up FS2004 in full screen mode while trying to use two monitors. The end result may seem a bit extreme, but I wanted Radar Contact. My solution, WideFS and AdvDisp/ShowText. I am now able to run FS2004/FS9 on my main computer while running ActiveSky, FlightSim Commander, Radar Contact on a second computer via WideFS and AdvDisp/ShowText.http://www.rmfc.us/photo/Network1.jpgMy Main FS2004/FS9 Computerhttp://www.rmfc.us/photo/Network2.jpgMy Second Computer, running ActiveSky, FlightSim Commander, Radar Contact via WideFS and ShowText. Thanks for a "GREAT" product. February 21, 200818 yr Moderator Hi Mike,Nice to hear you're all setup now and enjoying flying and RC. :-)Are you happy with the new graphics card? I have one on order but getting it is proving difficult.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). March 5, 200818 yr Dude, seriously...what steps did you take to get that setup? I have a second pc on a LAN beside my main one and would love to offload RC and AS to increase my PMDG 744x FPS.
March 6, 200818 yr Hi Michael,I will not talk of your set up that is the subject of the thread notwithstanding the fact that is very good, I was rather interested by the last lines in your signature...I couldn't agree more with you, those add on companies have been really disappointing.OK, sorry for highjacking the thread a bit just wanted to salute Mike who was very nice with me some years ago when I asked for private help with FT 737.Thank you.Lorenzo
March 6, 200818 yr Moderator I'm probably not 'dude' but I'll answer your question anyway.:-)It's very easy once the PCs are visible to each other via a network. If you've already setup a home network then you're almost there. There is a section in the manual on how to install on a WideFS system.Doing this does not increase frame rates but it will give more CPU cycles to FS and should make for less stutters. March 12, 200818 yr Author Hi,Sorry, for the delay in responding. This is what I did to get things setup on my computers.1. You need to have two computers networked. I did this by connecting both computers via a crossover cable.================================================Flight Sim Computer Ethernet Setup | COMPUTER #1================================================Internet Protocol TCP/IP------------------------IP Address: 192.168.0.40Subset Mask: 255.255.255.0Default Gateway: I left This BlankDNS Server Addresses: I left Both Blank_________________________________________________________Now go to My Computer, Control Panel, Network Connections1.
