March 9, 200818 yr I'm sorry, I know I should know this but I've stored several flights mid-flight using the ctrl-shft-; keys and have never been able to find them again to reload into RC. I'm running RC4 on a WideFS machine.I swear I've looked in the manual, searched the forum and done numerouws searches on both hard drive for "*.rc*" files and have never been able to find them.TIA. March 9, 200818 yr Commercial Member it's a .rcd fileit's in the path you specify when you click the .flt/.wx buttonjd JD Read my blog
March 9, 200818 yr Author Thanks, JD. As I said I have done searches for *.rc* flies and there are none on either computer. When I press on that button it just hightlights "My Computer" icon in the file tree. :-( I found the .FLT and .WX files named just as RC4 auto-named them, but no .rcd files anywhere, on either machine. Does it matter that I've got RC4 installed on the host, too?I know I designated the correct network resource at one time and RC4 has always worked well, but no .rcd files to be found on either computer. Any way to salvage this flight? It's a 10 hour on line flight for my VA. :-wave Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. March 9, 200818 yr Commercial Member after you click the button, and get the my computer file tree, navigate to the path where fs stores the .flt/.wx files, which will be on the fs machine, usually "my documentsflight simulator files" or flight simulator x filesjd JD Read my blog
March 9, 200818 yr Author Thanks for your time JD. The only things I could find, on either machine, were the "68-71296-Schiphol to Ivato-7$1.FLT" file and "68-71296-Schiphol to Ivato-7$1.WX" files RC4 created when I hit the ctrl-shft-; key combo. Those filese were on the Host machine right where they should be -- My Documents/Flight Simulator Files. :( This is weird. Smooth Skies! -- Chuck B. March 9, 200818 yr Author >>what version of fsuipc are you using 3.75 - registered>>why don't you follow the steps pinned at the top of the forum, create a .logI will now, but I was in the middle of an 11 hour flight. Besides, I thought this was a simple problem that I missed somewhere in the directions, who would think to create a log file for this?I'll send you the log file as soon as I complete my next flight.Thank you. March 13, 200818 yr Author I think I have this fixed. I noticed that when I pressed the FLT/WX Path button, RC4 will show me the file tree as it should but even if I don't do anything with that file tree and simply press the "Cancel" button RC4 will lose my network focus. Otherwise it holds my network location for the Flight Simulator Files folder on the FS Machine, and saves my .rcd files right where it should. Thanks for taking the time to help me on a Sunday.Best regards and smooth skies!Chuck B. March 16, 200818 yr Chuck - what was the problem and how did you fix it? I am having the EXACT same problem. Saved a few times using ctrl + shift + ;, have the flight file and WX file but no RCD anywhere and not in specified path.
