ATC (Canned) Chatter Files

Featured Replies

I want to add some more ATC (Canned) chatter files to the London (UK) area where I live.I've found some ATC chatter files on Avsim called....File Description:A series of three zips containing wave files of real Thames Radar ATC chatter covering aircraft and helicopters. (JC) movements around London, including departures and approaches at London City Airport. For use in FS98 & FS2000 with BSATC (BSATC113.ZIP), ATC Chatter (ATCCHA11.ZIP) and in those and other flight sims with Ear Candy II (ec2full.zip). (JC) Would I put these WAVS into the geographical folder (for London) folder number 380 which is totally empty at the moment in all eight folders or into the main "UK" (Country) respective folder? If they go in the geographical folder, does the numbering start from ATC11.WAV?Also, how many WAV files can you have within the ATC1 folder? The numbering system stops at 199 in the UK Country ATC1 folder. What comes after 199? It can't be 200 because anything beginning with a "2", is for files in the ATC 2 Folder. Many Thanks for your help in the right direction on this.Regards.Graham.

99 per controllerthey would go in the uk subfolder.since uk is made up of multiple centers, you will see a uk$.txt file, which is sort of a pointer to the uk subfolderlow atc starts with atc1nn where nn is 1-99, high is atc2nn, and super is atc3nnjd

Sorry, but I'm still unclear jd.So put the wav files into the main "UK" Country folder as opposed to the geographic folder which is numbered 380 and titled..."London FIR".I was under the impression when reading the manual that if I place WAVs into the geographic folder only which are numbered, (380 in this case), then when a flight simulator aircraft passes through that geographic location then only the WAVs for that area will play until I exit that location. Doesn't placing WAVS into the main "UK" Country folder simply play through the list of WAVS irrespective of where you are in the UK.Thanks again.Graham.

bob johnson wrote a long section of the manual about this. i think it is pretty goodbottom linethere are hundreds of centers. some of the centers are all encompasing a geographic region.if you have chatter for that specific center, the wavs go thereif the center, is a member of a group of centers, that comprise a geographic area (memphis, atlanta, washington), then there is a pointer in each of the centers, pointing it to the USA directory. chatter for the USA goes in the USA directoryif you want chatter fo a specific airport, then use the ICAO code for the airport, and put the airport specific wavs in it's directorywinwoodKATLAPPDEPTWRetcjd

Just wondering if you have been looking for UK chatter if you may have come across any chatter files for the Bahamas or the general Carribian area. But the Bahamas would be of great interest..wav file particularly.Actually my particular sim of choice does not have all the bells and whistles the mainstream sims have developed. So stand alone program application are required.Hence the .wav files as apposed to adventure or mission files.Useing Enviro 3.2 for chatter. Thanks for the time and hope I can get some feedback on the .wav files.
