RC reads the weather from FS. Just to make sure FS is getting the pressure from ASX, if you hit SHIFT-Z a couple of times(that is the key in FS9, don't know about FSX) what does the FS readout state.QNH of 1013 is the standard pressure (equals 29.92 in) when above transition altitude appropriate to you area of flight. Also, is RC on your FS computer or networked to it.I am just suggesting you check this since someone else with FSX and if applicable a networked computer will have to help you.

Hi all. I have the same problem here. When listening to the atis, I get all the infos I need, plan for landing...and there I find a totally different situation. For example, tonight I heard the atis (in automatic mode, with copilot tuning the frequency at 50 Nm) the wind was 010/05, rwy in use 36. They cleared me to for an ILS rwy 36, but the wind was 230/15. I'm not saying it's a big problem landing with a tailwind, (on most commercial airports it's allowed for noise relief and other technical reasons, provided the runway is not contaminated) but it also happened to find a traffic coming from the opposite side (frontal crash). At first I thought it was because I tuned the ATIS too early, and maybe RC couldn't get the weather before the FS ATIS frequency was reachable, but now I see it doesn't matter when you tune ATIS.It usually happens in the arrival phase; during the wx brefing pre-takeoff wouldn't be a problem, as I could ask the controller another runway. But when you understand there's a problem and you're in short final....Anyway, the Fs meteo with shift-Z is the one really depicted, which is also the one I see in Active sky window or map gauge. Here I am talking of winds, but the things remain the same concerning cloud cover and visibility. It seems it can't update the weather. For QNH, I can say RC is quite real,as this is a bug in FS. In reality, a controller won't continuously tell you a new qnh, as it happens when you press B to update and see it changes for maybe even 6 Mb!! That's impossible. Pressure changes aren't soo large in a few miles! It would be more than a hurrucane!!I hope I have explained well enough.RegardsFederico

>Can you just confirm where I should point the weather>directory in RC??>>ThanksRC does not read weather from any directory. It reads it from the FS weather engine via FSUIPC which in turn for FSX gets it from Simconnect. If you are having problems with ASX and simconnect, then FS will not get the current weather from ASX and therefore RC can not get it.FS is left in clear weather mode when using it with AS. That means without getting the AS effects on weather it will maintain clear weather and standard pressure of 29.92 in./1013 mb.You have to solve your ASX problem first in communicating to FS. When you do that it will read the correct weather as controlled by ASX.Have you looked at the Active Sky support forum here on AVSIM?
